Straight from the little feathered dinosaurs who are spoiled rotten by Kiki with love, attention, and probably entirely too many treats. 😂

🥚 Colors range from cream to every shade of brown
🥚 Speckled beauties
🥚 And even some gorgeous BLUE eggs! 💙

Every carton is a little different because the ladies apparently believe in ✨variety✨.

Cartons pictured are numbered 1–5.

Breaking News from Hot Mess Acres:
A zucchini refused to cooperate this afternoon.

After approximately 47 failed attempts…
one dramatic vegetable toss…
and a level of determination usually reserved for Olympic athletes…

Kiki finally made that sucker HONK. 🥒🎺😂

Moral of the story?
Never underestimate the stubbornness of a 10-year-old… or a zucchini.

Hey y’all! I’m Roxy. 👋

Former restaurant owner.

Current keeper of the chaos.

Mom, wife, chicken addict, gardener, cookbook creator, and the queen of saying, “It’ll be fun!” before turning a 30-minute project into a three-day ordeal.

I started Hot Mess Acres because social media has enough perfect.

Around here, you’ll see the wins…

…and you’ll see the “what in the fresh hell happened here?” moments too. 😂

Sometimes the house is clean.

Sometimes there’s dirt on my kitchen floor because I walked in from the garden “just for a minute.”

Sometimes dinner is homemade from scratch.

Sometimes it’s cereal because life won.

The weeds don’t care about my to-do list.

The chickens don’t care about my fences.

The laundry reproduces when nobody’s looking.

And if I say, “I have an idea…” my family immediately starts looking for the nearest exit.

But in the middle of all the chaos…

Kids learn how to cook.

Gardens grow.

Chickens make us laugh.

Recipes become traditions.

Memories get made.

And somehow, this messy little life turns out to be pretty darn beautiful.

So if you’re looking for a page where everything is spotless, perfectly staged, and filtered within an inch of its life…

Bless your heart… you took a wrong turn. 😂

But if you like homemade food, gardens, chickens, coffee, a little sarcasm, and a whole lot of real life…

Behind every “look what I grew” post… there’s usually this crew. 💙

Today is one of those days where my body tapped out.

So while I’m taking it a little slower, they’re already feeding the animals, checking the garden, and keeping Hot Mess Acres running. Before the day’s over, they’ll probably have worked outside, figured out dinner, and somehow kept this whole place moving without a single complaint.

I may be the one with the crazy ideas…

…but they’re the reason those ideas actually happen.

Hot Mess Acres has never been a one-woman show. It’s a family project, and I’m pretty dang thankful for my people. 🩵🌿🐔

She’s 10, and we’re big believers that kids can do more than most people think. Cooking, gardening, collecting eggs, caring for animals… we’re raising capable humans around here.

(Also… that hen has no idea she just started a lifelong tradition. 🤣💙🐔)
