A new lot & harvest from El Meson is now available🇨🇴
Our relationship with El Meson is about far more than exceptional coffee. We have tremendous respect for the people behind it - Sandy and Pillo - and the work they do to not only produce extraordinary Pink Bourbon, but to invest in the people who make coffee production possible.
El Meson supports The Picker’s Project, a nonprofit organization with a threefold goal of ending worker exploitation in coffee, solving farmers’ labor issues, and improving quality. This program helps provide fair wages, legal protections, healthcare, and training.
That feels especially important right now❤️🩹 This week, a devastating earthquake struck Colombia, leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured, and communities across the region facing an enormous recovery. Beyond the unimaginable human toll, it has damaged roads and infrastructure, disrupted ports and transportation, and brought much of the country’s coffee export system to a standstill.
Coffee doesn’t exist separately from the people and places that produce it. Behind every bean is an entire network of livelihoods who depend on it.
As we welcome this new harvest, we’re reminded why long-term relationships in coffee matter. Supporting producers like El Meson means valuing their coffee, their work, and the communities behind every harvest, not only when times are good, but when their country is facing extraordinary hardship.
We’re incredibly proud to share this new coffee, available now online and Tuesday at our cafes.
