🏖️103 people worked in the rain yesterday from 8:00am to midnight to make Block Party happen. Today, we say thank you to our Volunteers ⛈️

☀️Even though it’s only one small block, the amount of work that it takes putting this event on is astounding. From getting here at the crack of dawn and dragging street closure barricades and traffic cones all over, to conquering 7,583 flights of stairs bringing up everything from the basement, to tables and chairs, putting up tents, signage, stanchions, helping vendors unload, directing traffic, pouring beers, checking ID’s, taking out the trash, delivering water bottles, working double shifts without even being asked because others didn’t show up, amongst a million more things.

⛈️Everything, these people did IN THE POURING RAIN all day long with the most genuine smiles on their faces, because that’s how happy they were to just be a part of the madness.

🫶🏼A free Tshirt, vip bands, free beer, free cups, and all the volunteer perks will never be enough to show how truly grateful all of us here at the brewery are to these people and what they do for our street parties.

🌱We could never grow these things to as big as they’ve gotten without the volunteers.

Today’s post is dedicated to these people.

🏖️If you’re headed downtown on Saturday June 6th for the 5th Annual Grain Theory Downtown Block Party Beach Bash, swing by the Food Bank booth and help us stock the shelves for local families.

🛍️Bring a bag of non-perishable food items and Grain Theory will thank you with a free street beer coupon🍻
-beer coupon valid ONLY for beer on the street at the beer tent the day of the event

🍽️Some of the most-needed items include canned protein, peanut butter, canned beans, canned fruits and vegetables, and whole grain staples like rice, pasta, and cereal.

The food bank tent will be be set up at intersection of Pine & North 2nd throughout the event.

We’re bringing a deli favorite to the menu for this Tuesday's special.

Tomorrow at 11am, we’re putting out an Italian Chopped Sandwich. It’s made with chopped Genoa and capicola salamis, provolone, lettuce, and tomato mixed with a creamy Italian dressing and served on toasted ciabatta. Like always, it comes with GT seasoned fries and our signature GT fry sauce.

Pairs perfectly with a cold pint. Get it before it's gone!

We’re bringing family friendly beach vibes to downtown with DJs, food trucks, local vendors, activities, street beer specials, photo ops, and for the first time ever… a real life mermaid

This year’s event is brought to you in part by Presenting Sponsor Abilene Environmental Landfill

NEW FOR 2026:
From 6 PM – 9 PM, guests can meet a real life mermaid and take photos during the event

Every Grain Theory street party partners with the Food Bank of West Central Texas for a community food drive. Bring a full bag of non-perishable food items to the Food Bank booth at Pine & North 2nd and receive a coupon for one FREE street beer
