We want to help you easily know how long it takes to properly wash your hands – the 30 seconds practical song guide

Handwashing is among the easiest and yet super important things we can all do to decrease the likelihood of infections and protect ourselves and others. Handwashing prevents colds and infectious diseases of all sorts. As a place that is centered around freshness and quality, good hygienic practice is of course nothing new to us. And handwashing with soap has always been part of the routine at ZNZ Msuo as instructed by our trainer from Welcome Ideas. But how to tell how long you should wash your hands? Half a minute can feel super short when watching a game or movie but pretty long just standing in front of a wash-basin, right?
If you follow the recommended routine, less than 20 seconds, however, will not be enough. What works is singing the refrain of „Happy Birthday to you“ - twice. The recommended time for a proper wash can also be achieved humming „Staying Alive“ by the Be Gees. Or try „Take on Me“ from A-ha. Start on a low note rather as the end might become challenging. Finally, you can also flush virusses of your hands singing Beethoven’s „Ode to Joy“ – or any other song that lasts about 25- 30 seconds. Rub your hands together using soap and warm water and the germs will be rinsed away.

We want to help you get rid of the Corona blues – discover Feisal’s uplifting playlist

In times of human isolation music is balm for the soul, a remedy against the viral blues. The coronavirus pandemic is very serious, that is for sure. It has already killed more than 100.000 people, is spreading with brutal force, it has extinguished economic activity and confined billions of people to their homes as staying away from people is the most powerful weapon against COVID-19 for communities and countries. And yet there is music to help us get over these challenging times. Feisal’s little playlist is meant to cheer you up a bit with a selection of new and old songs. And, as always, we are happy to hear back from you.
• What beats and timeless classics are your favorites these days?

We are in this together, and be it at a distance

Hello everyone, dear guests, Facebook friends, followers or visitors. While we are all, to a certain degree, struggling with the a new reality enforced on us by a new and evil virus, we want to send out a strong message of what we all hold dear: friendship, empathy with those so badly affected and solidarity. We know and we feel that we are in this together. And we will get out of this together.
We have put together some information that we hope will bring you some pleasure and turn out to be useful. And we will make use of one of our strongest allies and outmost loyal companion at ZNZ Msuo Juice Bar – our passion for music. Now that we are at a distance from so many of you, a distance that never felt bigger before, we want to bridge those distances because no matter what music connects us all – from soul to soul, from Zanzibar to all corners of the world.
During low season and due to the situation, offerings at ZNZ Msuo might be limited. As virusses need contact between people to spread, reducing contact with each other is needed at this time, making it challenging to be there for you as usual. But our dedication to all of you remains in place. Give us a call to see what we can do for you. Stay connected, stay tuned.

International Women‘s Day - Inspiring women from Siti Binti Saad to Bi Kidude and beyond

Today is the International Women’s Day - and a good reminder that for women to be treated equally around the world in general but also in paternalistic societies on beautiful islands in particular a lot still has to happen.
At ZNZ Msuo Juice Bar you can find local heroines and role models Siti Binti Saad and Bi Kidude honored on our menu - and some information on what these brave women still have to tell us today.
Fortunately, strong and inspiring women are also about to shaping Zanzibar‘s future in the field of music. Just think of Siti and the band or Aisha Bakary, also known as The Hijab DJ.
We are happy to see that our bar has become a place that is frequented by terrific women and men, locals and guests from all over the world, a true generation equality.
