Our story

The year was 2009 when Teddy opened the Original Teddy’s Place in Paje, where he was born. Ten local banda rooms, twenty-five beds, the first hostel on the East coast of Zanzibar started to host people from all over the world!

Since that time, in the middle of coconut trees, on the magic beach where the kites color the sky: looooooooooong kswahili lessons, tasting Zanzibari food, experimental cocktails, relaxing naps on the hammock and tonnes of PopoParty happened.

We’re are still here, ready to have fun with you.
