Dear friends and loved ones,
I want to start out by apologizing for a lack of updates over the past year. I sincerely apologize, especially to all of you out there who have continued to support us financially and through your prayers during this season. Thank you so much for your support even during this time of silence.
As some of you may know, Doug Postma and I went back to school last year to further educate ourselves in the vast subject of business. It was very exciting learning so much and we both look forward to implementing our newly acquired set of skills and knowledge into Zion Coffee.
In the upcoming year we will both be entering new seasons of life. Doug will be continuing his education towards a marketing degree as well as taking an internship at Thrive School of Production to further his knowledge and passion towards what God is calling him to in ministry. Meanwhile, I will be finalizing the Zion Coffee business plan, continuing to work at Coffee Bean gaining coffee shop experience, and spending the rest of my time preparing to get married.
After getting married next year, raising the funds necessary to make Zion Coffee a reality in Tanzania will become of utmost importance to me. I will begin by raising the $20,000 needed to purchase the land so we can get this long process started. I’m really antsy to finally buy the land, but like all of you know that are already married, I have a higher priority that I need to focus on right now.
So rest assured, Zion Coffee is still alive. We haven’t lost our passion to see the lives of the poor and needy transformed. And we still look forward to the day when we are helping empower a community, one cup at a time.
Thank you again for you continued support! Hopefully it won’t be another year till our next update :)
Sincerely,
Alex LaGrand
