Welcome to fresh hot bread that is locally made in Longido! Blessing Bakery is now outfitted to produce large amounts of bread each day. Nusra and Zaharan have the professional equipment that is needed to prepare and bake large and small loaves, bread rolls, as well as cakes and other sweets. Customers include local villagers who buy bread in shops, travellers at the bus stop, guest houses, and schools. Blessing Bakery thanks you for all your support!

Big things happening at Blessing Bakery in Tanzania this week. Nusra and her staff have been making so much bread that they have needed to switch to professional appliances to keep up with the demand. Expect to see many different tasty products on the streets of Longido in the days ahead.

We haven’t posted an update on Blessing Bakery in awhile but this doesn’t mean Nusra has not been busy. If you live in Longido, you know Nusra has become an all-occasion cake maker, custom making tasty cakes almost daily. This is in addition to a large variety of other delicious baked goods. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored Nusra’s business and to those who are supporting her growing business with their orders and purchases!

Here are some of the most recent photos from Blessing Bakery. The signage is now up directing customers to purchase fresh products daily. Queen Cakes are one of the big sellers, especially since customers no longer have to wait for them to arrive from Arusha. Sarah Messenger from Vermont dropped off some muffin tins and will, hopefully, share some favourite recipes.
If you haven't already visited the Bakery, do stop by. Nusra welcomes custom orders and looks forward to providing tasty treats!

Since the last update Blessing Bakery has quietly launched itself in Longido. Nusra's husband, Ernest, put the final paint touches on the locally made shelving. Nusra made final decisions about startup equipment and baking supplies to be purchased to get her business going. For instance, the decision was made to purchase two smaller less expensive stoves (one gas, one electric) rather that one larger one that combined both features. Nusra also spent some time with a friend, Agnes, trying out some new recipes.
Her new work space is bright and spacious enough to get production underway. Regular orders have already been placed for popular items like Queen Cakes. Planning is underway to develop a regular schedule so the townspeople know what to expect from Blessing Bakery each day.
The sign is nearly finished and there will be another update once it has been installed. So keep checking back! In the meantime, we hope people who have sampled any of Nusra's baking will feel free to post comments here! Brian and Juliete certainly approve!

We are so pleased to share photos of the finishing of the Blessing Bakery building. We think it is beautiful! Here you will see the final colourful touches on the walls, inside and out, and the floor. The windows are in and the electrical wiring is complete.
To celebrate, Nusra baked and iced a cake. Beginning soon, cakes will be made on the table and inside!
