Nishi Trading is proud to be a Tongan owned and operated business that has employed local people for over 20 years. Nishi Trading has a long history of agricultural exports and imports, and has continued to prosper over the years by diversifying into new agri-markets, as well as complementary agri-retail products and quarry services. Nishi Trading Co Ltd is a family owned Tongan business operating
for more than 20 years, with plans to expand into processing and manufacturing. In 2013-14 Nishi Trading is building standard, food processing and manufacturing facility in partnership with IACT (Increasing Agricultural Commodity Trade). The facility is currently awaiting hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) auditing which upon approval will see a step up in international recognition of quality market ready exported products. Sea container hygiene system (SCHS) is enforced by the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) arriving into New Zealand shores are clean and free of pests and biosecurity contamination, another venture that Nishi Trading is working towards guaranteeing under the new processing plant. In association with the drive for quality controlled goods comes the need for quality produced farmers who will be trained and certified at the onsite Training Center which is currently undergoing accreditation from the Tonga National Qualification Board (TNQAB)
