🇹🇴 Emancipation Day — Kingdom of Tonga 🇹🇴
Emancipation Day, on the 4th June, is one of the most significant days in the history of the Kingdom of Tonga. It commemorates the vision and leadership of King George Tupou I, who abolished serfdom and granted freedom to the people of Tonga in 1862.
This special day reminds us of the blessings of liberty, dignity, and unity that have shaped our nation. We remember with gratitude the wisdom of those who came before us and give thanks for God’s guidance upon our Kingdom.
Happy Emancipation Day. God bless the Kingdom of Tonga. 🇹🇴
