ก่อนอื่นต้องบอกก่อนเลยนะครับว่าก่อนที่จะเกิดค๊อกเทลตัวนี้ขึ้นมานั้น แท้จริงแล้วชื่อของB-52 เป็นชื่อของเครื่องบินที่ทิ้งระเบิดของ USA ในสมัยสงครามเวียตนาม มีอานุภาพทำลายล้างชนิดบอมม์ และสำหรับค๊อกเทลB-52ถูกคิดค้นขึ้นโดย ปีเตอร์ Fich ซึ่งเป็นเฮดบาร์เทนเดอร์ที่ Banff Springs โรงแรมในแบมฟ์ อัลเบอร์ต้า ปรากฏชื่อเสียงเรียงนามครั้งแรกในร้านสเต็กชื่อ KEG จากสหรัฐ ปี 1977 ซึ่งมีส่วนผสมหลักๆ เป็นเหล้า 3 อย่าง และ จัดเรียงเป็น 3 ชั้น นั่นคือ
-ชั้นล่างสุด คือ Coffee liqueur เหล้าหวานรสกาแฟ
-ชั้นกลาง คือ Bailey's ไอริสวิสกี้ครีม
-และชั้นบนสุด คือ Orange-flavored liqueur เหล้าหวานรสส้ม
ความพิเศษของค๊อกเทลตัวนี้นั้นจะมีการจุดไฟอยู่ตัวเครื่องดื่มเหมือนตามรูป เวลาจะดื่มก็ต้องดื่มให้หมดภายในครั้งเดียว โดยจะใช้หลอดในการดูดอย่างเร็ว เมื่อดื่มเข้าไปจะร้อนแรงเหมือนไฟลุกในท้องแน่นอน !

Or, if you’re not all that into military vibes, you could possibly get behind the story that Finch was actually inspired by one of his favorite bands, the B-52’s – an American new wave band from Athens, Georgia.
Despite its somewhat murky origins, the B-52 Cocktail has become a popular drink in bars and nightclubs around the world. It’s a fun and festive clinker that’s perfect for special occasions and celebrations.
