This Saturday, our friends at Kickstart Art, will honour their friend Saw Kyaw Khai with a retrospective show.
The Art Community in Mae Sot is a very special kind, and Saw Kyaw Khai personified that.
In general an artist creates expressions of her or his personality and emotions. In Mae Sot most artists use their skills to teach young people how to express their feelings and emotions. Thus operating in a variety of fields. A child who finds an outlet of emotions, has a tool to deal with those emotions.
Saw Kyaw Khai stood more often in front of classrooms than he did in galleries, while his art has all the qualities to cover walls.
This Saturday is an opportunity to look at the life of Saw Kyaw Khai through the canvasses and papers he covered with paint. And you will meet his colleagues and most important, his students, of which there are hundreds, perhaps thousands.
