🔴 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that fully vaccinated Thais and foreign residents who travel to any of the 46 countries and territories on the approved list for a short trip do not need to do quarantine on their return. They just need to do Test & Go. In addition, there will be a CCSA meeting today to discuss allowing foreigners to be able to use social security or their own private insurance.
This will be good for business people doing short three day trips or expats going home for a short holiday. I will post as soon as more news comes in about the insurance. Unfortunately it’s too late for me as I have already had to buy additional insurance to cover the length of my remaining visa. So I had to get a one year policy just for my short trip abroad. The cost is nearly as much as the plane ticket.
UPDATE: Expats who fly from Thailand to any country on the approved list only have to do Test & Go on their return. They don’t have to stay 21 days in that country. However, if they also visit a country NOT on the list, they must spend 7 nights in a Sandbox province on their return. Yes, they can leave their hotel, but they must stay in that province. That’s effectively quarantine.
