After we first closed our shop months ago, we’ve spent the time working hard on experimenting, baking, cooking, tweaking, all to perfect something that the world has never seen - a Frozen Custard Pie.
We’ve traded the bright signs and the storefront hustle for a focused, home-based kitchen. By moving to a small-batch, limited drops model, we’re putting 100% of our care into every single crust, every hand-peeled fresh fruit, and every (gloved) hand separated egg yolk.
For our first drop, we’re starting with the Frozen Key Lime Custard pie. A nod to our extremely popular and customer favorite at our Joo Chiat shop - the Key Lime Frozen Custard Sundae.
One of my favorite pies growing up in America, the Key Lime pie is very close to my heart, being the signature dessert of my Mom’s home state of Florida. It’s more than just a pie; it’s a piece of history that tastes like a 19th-century Floridian summer. It’s that nostalgic balance of tart, sweet, and buttery that has defined American southern coastal culture for generations.
But at Gwen’s, we’re not just repeating history. We’re freezing it. 🧊 Inspired by this iconic American pie and our traditional frozen custard process, we’ve crossbred the two into something entirely new. It’s colder, creamier, and more indulgent than anything you’ve had before.
As much as I would like everyone to try this unique frozen custard pie, I sincerely apologise that because we are now a home-based operation, quantities are strictly limited. Batch #001 of our Signature Key Lime Frozen Custard Pie is now open at the link in bio, and limited to only 3 pies per customer. Once our freezer is empty, and you’ll have to wait till the next drop. First come, first served, smiles encouraged.
