55 years.
A long, often challenging journey. One filled with obstacles, unexpected turns, and moments that tested us in ways we never imagined. Yet, through it all, we held on to our faith and chose to keep going.

The F&B industry is an ever-changing landscape — a relentless roller coaster. The mental and emotional weight it carries is something only those who have lived it truly understand. There were times we quietly asked ourselves if this was still the right path. Giving up can feel easy; holding on is the question everyone asks.

But we stayed. Because of belief. Because of purpose. And because of the people who stood by us.

At Goldleaf, we believe it is faith, perseverance, and belief that steady the heart—
reminding us to stay grounded, honour our roots, and continue moving forward. It has not been easy, especially over the past few months, when challenges came in ways we had never encountered in our many years in the F&B industry. Unexpected turns, unseen struggles, and moments that truly tested our faith. There are battles people do not see, and unkindness that happens quietly in the background. In such times, the heart simply learns to hold still and endure.
We are deeply thankful—for our regulars, our new customers, and the angels who stand by us silently, offering support and belief. Your presence means more than words can express, and for that, we are truly grateful.

December reminds us of giving, of kindness, of looking beyond our own struggles. This year hasn’t been easy for us. We’ve faced countless challenges, moments of doubt, and days where we wondered how much further we could go. But even then, we never forgot that there are many out there who need help just as much — or even more — than we do.
This dream of giving back has lived in our hearts for a long time. We started small, quietly, with almost nothing — just a handful of people who believed in us. To those few who stood by us, encouraged us, and offered kind words when we needed them the most… thank you. Your faith kept us going.
There were days when people pay $1 for our food, yet we still chose to give. Not because we had a lot, but because we believed in blessings, in purpose, and in doing what’s right even when it’s hard.

For those of us in F&B, the last few years have tested our resilience in ways we never expected. And for a heritage brand, the pressure is doubled — we are not merely running a business; we are carrying the memories of generations, the taste of childhoods, the stories passed down by families who dined with us through the decades.

We have had to evolve, innovate, and adapt, all while holding firmly to our roots. It hasn’t been an easy balance. There were moments we wondered if our heritage would survive the changing times. But every time we looked around, we saw customers — families, regulars, and even newcomers — choosing to walk this journey with us. Their support became our strength.

In recent months, our steps into live-streaming brought a new wave of warmth. New customers discovered us, embraced our flavours, and allowed our heritage to reach fresh hearts and homes. Witnessing this renewed love has been one of the most meaningful parts of our journey.

Our Story

Goldleaf Restaurant was founded in 1971 by a group of Singaporean businessmen who wanted to preserve the taste of old-school, familial Chinese cuisine. Determined to serve dishes that offer comfort and nostalgia to diners, they brought in a team of ten award-winning Taiwanese chefs, who together developed a range of immensely popular dishes that have now become the signatures. Its first establishment at Orchard Road helped spur the popularity of heavenly Taiwanese cuisine in Singapore, and has been visited by celebrities and movie stars. Over the years, Goldleaf Restaurant has continued to serve Taiwanese-style porridge and heart-warming popular dishes to Singaporeans young and old.

金葉餐厅是在1971年由新加坡商人创立，旨在保留传统中式家常菜。餐馆决心提供美味暖心菜式，特别从台湾引入十位得奖厨师，一起研发了一系列菜品，推出以后大受欢迎，成为餐馆的招牌菜。金叶最早开在乌节路，吸引许多名人与明星到访。多年来，金葉的台湾粥与家常菜温暖人心，成为各年龄层新加坡人的美好回忆。
