If there’s one place in Korea I’d love to introduce to you first, it’s right here! You might remember Bigmama selling Dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) before—well, Chuncheon is the true home and birthplace of Dakgalbi in Korea.
This spot is heavily favored by local Chuncheon residents, so visiting outside peak meal times is the best trick to skip the long queue!
✨ Must-Try Highlights:
The Rice Cakes (Tteok): You have to try the rice cakes here. Not only are they ultra-fresh, soft, and chewy, but they also have a unique hole through the center that lets all the delicious marinade soak right in!
Balanced Flavor: Unlike super aggressive spicy dishes, the seasoning here isn’t overly salty or harsh—it’s smooth, mild, and wonderfully flavorful.
Pro Tips: You can add chicken offal (dak-naejang) to your meal and finish off with fried rice. But since you're in Chuncheon, I highly recommend ordering a bowl of Makguksu (spicy cold buckwheat noodles) to pair with it!
