In less than an hour, we will be concluding the final dinner service at our Telok Ayer restaurant -- the space that we have called home since when we first opened our doors in 2009! We wholly enjoyed our time here making new friends and meeting people from all walks of life and serving them our brand of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine.

To our customers, friends and family thank you for your continuous support. We are taking a break and will be looking for a new home. This is not a goodbye, it's see you later! So make sure you follow us on our social media platforms and stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

We're in our final weekend of operations at Telok Ayer! Don't miss out on all your favourite Lebanese goodies before we move out of 161 Telok Ayer, especially the range of yummy dips and freshly baked flatbread!

🔥🔥🔥 Recommended by a friend’s friend to visit this place, we had the pastry with cheese, pastry with minced lamb and signature mixed grilled platter ($34) which are all very yums! The pastry are freshly made, taste hot and savoury, really love them. Mixed grill are not over grilled, still so juicy! For good Lebanese food is the right place to go!

Moussaka Batanjan is the only eggplant-based dish here! Our Moutabal Baba Ghanouj is another one! A delicious puree of grilled eggplant combined with creamy earthy Tahini, invigorated by a measure of lemon juice and olive oil, ideally served with freshly-baked Lebanese bread!

Come and get your fill before we move out from our Telok Ayer shophouse at the end of this month

Tabbouleh is not a grain salad with herbs in it; it is a herb salad with grains in it! Parsley and mint are the stars of the vegetarian-friendly and flavourful Tabbouleh, and they can be found in all your favourite dishes at Urban Bites! 💙💚

The vegan community has spoken! Our very own Moussaka Batanjan has been awarded Singapore's Top 50 Vegan Dishes in 2021, based on reviews by abillion amazing and lovely community!

Unlike other versions of moussaka, we make a healthy, dairy-free one made of roasted eggplants, tomato stew sauce, Lebanese spices, garlic and chickpeas!

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we prepare to bid goodbye to our current place and Telok Ayer street where we first opened our doors in 2009! What a journey! To our customers, friends and family thank you for your continuous support. We have gone through years together, over a decade, with lots of ups and downs, and took a major punch from COVID-19. As a family business, we have held as long as we could especially through 2020, but it’s been tough, to say the least. With exorbitant rental rates, lower sales, and manpower challenges we have decided that our final day will be on 31st March 2021. We will take a break and then look for a new home.

This is not a goodbye, it's see you later. Until then, please come help us bid farewell to our Telok Ayer outlet from now till 31st March! We need all your support for the final stretch.

Located in the heart of telok ayer street, Urban Bites is your value for money destination for your mediterranean cravings.
The decor is decidedly un-mediterranean but cozy and the Sepia tinted pictures on the walls, add a touch of authenticity.
They had us at the 3 dip pita basket: soft and fluffy pita accompanied by a creamy hummus, a tangy moutabbel and a ravishing babaganoush with the smokiness of the aubergines complementing a yogurty tang.
The Grilled Haloumi was an absolute delight! Soft and juicy morsels of cheese with a slight char on top served with grilled peppers kicked things off to a great start.
The Chicken Shawarma was spot on and a special mention for the entire package - complete with a creamy dip, refreshing salad and crunchy spicy potato wedges.
The Shikaf Lahmeh or Charcoal grilled Beef tenderloin skewers were perfectly marinated and juicy to taste and went perfectly with the charred onions and the spicy pita accompanying them.
To round off the meal we tried their Grenadine soda with pomegranate molasses and lime. The drink is a straight blast from the past and evokes images of a 70's Beirut.
Needless to say, we enjoyed each and every 'bite' at this understated urban ode to Lebanese cuisine, in the heart of Singapore.
