A New Era for Thai SELECT: A Global Reawakening of Thai Culinary Excellence
The Ministry of Commerce of Thailand is embarking on an ambitious journey to elevate and rebrand the Thai SELECT symbol. This initiative aims to bolster the international reputation and recognition of Thai cuisine, fostering broader global acceptance and appreciation for Thailand’s unique culinary heritage.
🌟 At the heart of this rebranding is the newly introduced "Orchid Star of Honor," meticulously designed by drawing inspiration from the ornamental pinnacle of a traditional Benjarong porcelain lid. This refreshed emblem elegantly symbolizes the meticulous craftsmanship and refinement inherent in the art of Thai cooking.
📌 Key elements of the Orchid Star of Honor symbol carry significant meanings:
- The Inner Circle symbolizes the global reach and universal appeal of Thai cuisine, reflecting Thailand’s culinary presence around the world.
- The Outer Circle represents the dining plate, highlighting hospitality and the enriching dining experience that Thai cuisine promises.
- The Five Orchid Petals stand for the essential flavors that define authentic Thai cuisine: sour, sweet, rich, salty, and spicy—reflecting Thailand’s vibrant and harmonious culinary palette.
- The Five-directional Flames illustrate the dynamic energy and expansive potential of Thai cuisine, symbolizing its growing popularity and influence across international markets.
For the Thai SELECT Restaurant Awards, the Ministry has adopted this symbol as part of its certification program, categorizing Thai restaurants into four distinct levels as follows:
1. Thai SELECT Casual 👨🍳
Awarded to Thai restaurants with great flavors that offer a casual and welcoming dining experience. These establishments present dishes that adhere to authentic Thai food standards. Some may have service limitations, such as being takeaway only or operating as food trucks, but they still provide a satisfying and worthwhile experience.
2. Thai SELECT 1 STAR ⭐
Awarded to high quality Thai restaurants that offer a comfortable and inviting dining experience. These establishments feature a fine-casual dining atmosphere with full-service hospitality, where staff are attentive and welcoming. The restaurant’s ambiance and decor are clean and beautifully designed, and the presentation of dishes highlights unique culinary features.
3. Thai SELECT 2 STARS ⭐⭐
Awarded to excellent quality Thai restaurants that offer a beautiful and memorable atmosphere, creating an inviting upscale dining experience for customers. These establishments provide professional service and present dishes with creativity and distinctive character, making each meal truly unique and unforgettable.
4. Thai SELECT 3 STARS ⭐⭐⭐
Awarded to outstanding Thai restaurants that feature exceptional quality, a distinctive and remarkably luxurious atmosphere, and meticulously crafted decor. These establishments deliver a superior dining experience that is truly worth savoring, effectively conveying the story of Thai cuisine through their dishes in an engaging manner that reflects the unique essence of Thailand. In addition, their chefs are highly skilled, experienced, and possess extensive knowledge of ingredients and Thai cooking techniques.
For Thai SELECT Products, the certification criteria remain the same, granted to Thai food products, such as ready-to-eat/cook foods, curry pastes, seasonings, desserts and beverages, with traditional and authentic Thai flavors, high quality, world-class standard packaging as well as international food standards.

การยกระดับภาพลักษณ์อาหารไทยและตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ปี 2568
กระทรวงพาณิชย์มีนโยบายได้ดำเนินการปรับภาพลักษณ์ตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ให้เป็นที่ยอมรับแพร่หลายยิ่งขึ้นในระดับสากล และสามารถสะท้อนถึงอัตลักษณ์ด้านอาหารไทยและสื่อสารไปยังกลุ่มเป้าหมายได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด
🌟 โดยได้มีการเพิ่มการใช้สัญลักษณ์ “ดาวเกียรติยศรูปดอกกล้วยไม้” ที่ประยุกต์จากส่วนยอดของ ฝาภาชนะเบญจรงค์ในตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT สื่อความหมายถึงความประณีตของกระบวนการปรุง
อาหารไทย ซึ่งองค์ประกอบในดาว แบ่งเป็น 4 ส่วน ได้แก่
ส่วนที่ 1 วงกลมภายใน หมายถึง โลก
ส่วนที่ 2 วงกลมภายนอก หมายถึง จานอาหาร
ส่วนที่ 3 กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ หมายถึง รสชาติอาหารไทยที่มีครบ 5 รส ได้แก่ เปรี้ยว หวาน มัน เค็ม เผ็ด
ส่วนที่ 4 เปลวไฟ 5 ทิศ หมายถึง พลังของอาหารไทยและธุรกิจอาหารไทยที่สามารถขยายตัวไปไกลทั่วโลก
📌 โดยทางกระทรวงฯ ได้นำสัญลักษณ์ดังกล่าวมาใช้ในการจัดระดับการมอบตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ให้กับร้านอาหารไทย ซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็น 4 ระดับ ดังนี้
1. Thai SELECT Casual 👨🍳
มอบให้กับร้านอาหารไทยที่มีรสชาติตามแบบฉบับไทยและให้ความรู้สึกเป็นกันเองในการเข้ารับบริการ ในรูปแบบ Casual Dining มีการนำเสนออาหารที่ถูกต้องตามมาตรฐานอาหารไทย โดยร้านอาจมีข้อจำกัดในการบริการ เช่น ร้านที่ไม่มีที่นั่ง/Food Truck แต่ให้ความรู้สึกคุ้มค่า
2. Thai SELECT 1 ดาว⭐
มอบให้กับร้านอาหารไทยในรูปแบบ Fine-Casual Dining ที่มีการบริการเต็มรูปแบบ แต่ยังให้บรรยากาศที่ผ่อนคลาย ไม่เป็นทางการจนเกินไป ผู้ให้บริการมีความเอาใจใส่ อัธยาศัยดี มีบรรยากาศและการตกแต่งร้านที่สะอาด สวยงาม รวมถึงมีการนำเสนออาหารที่มีจุดเด่น
3. Thai SELECT 2 ดาว ⭐⭐
มอบให้กับร้านอาหารไทยในรูปแบบ Upscale Dining ที่โดดเด่นในด้านรสชาติและคุณภาพการให้บริการ มีบรรยากาศสวยงาม น่าประทับใจ สามารถดึงดูดใจให้ลูกค้ามาใช้บริการ รวมถึงมีการนำเสนอและตกแต่งจานอาหารที่มีการใช้ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว
4. Thai SELECT 3 ดาว ⭐⭐⭐
มอบให้กับร้านอาหารไทยคุณภาพยอดเยี่ยมที่มีบรรยากาศพิเศษเหนือระดับ มีการรังสรรค์จานอาหารและการบริการอย่างประณีตและพิถีพิถัน สามารถสร้างประสบการณ์การรับประทานอาหารชั้นเลิศให้แก่ผู้รับบริการ คุ้มค่าแก่การลิ้มลอง มีการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวของอาหารไทยผ่านจานอาหารได้อย่างน่าสนใจ โดดเด่น และสะท้อนเอกลักษณ์ความเป็นไทย รวมถึงเชฟมีความเชี่ยวชาญสูง มีประสบการณ์และความรอบรู้เรื่องวัตถุดิบและเทคนิคการปรุงอาหารไทยเป็นอย่างดี
สำหรับในส่วนของ Thai SELECT Product ที่มอบให้กับกลุ่มผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารไทย 🥫
ยังคงเกณฑ์การประเมินตามเดิม โดยมอบให้กับผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารไทยสำเร็จรูปที่เป็นสินค้าส่งออก มีคุณภาพได้มาตรฐานสากลและยังคงอัตลักษณ์ของอาหารไทยได้เป็นอย่างดี
