The Northern Paper Studio är ett stycke kvinnas företag som skapar papperskonst / pappersklipp / papercutting genom att skära ut mönster i pappersark med skalpell. Painted today! 🎨

Oh, I was terrified of today’s task – applying colour to an original without first doing any major colour tests.
But it turned out well.

I used Ecoline liquid watercolour, a mixture of a few drops of blue No. 578 and a few more drops of yellow 205. I ended up with a colour similar to emerald green – beautiful. The brush is from KreatorStudio No. 801 and the smaller brush is from Symbios by Raphail 2800.

The most fascinating thing is how the colour changes depending on the colour of the background paper – white or black.

Spring is here! 🌸🌿

Cold winds with rain and hailstorms, but a big sun in the sky promising warm days ahead.

The artwork is inspired by landscape painting – from oil paintings to prints – where you can sense the movement of the wind and wildlife.

I plan to colour this particular papercut using watercolour ink. Wish me luck 🥳

Just in time for Valborgsmässoafton 🔥 Walpurgis Night, the warmth and sunshine are finally here.

I’ve started cutting out out the landscape and have now finished the waves; I can really feel the spring vibes in the illustration – I’m so pleased.

This morning, whilst listening to a podcast, I jotted down various blue shapes in my notebook. 🔷🔹⚪🟦🔵 There’s something about the shapes that appeals to me, so I’m saving the paper for future projects.

My lovely red clover got to spend some time out in the sun today. The plant has done well over the winter and, once it’s been repotted into fresh soil, I’m expecting an explosion of beautiful purple leaves.

IAPMA - The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artist is the world's leading organization for papermakers and paper artist.

It was founded in 1986 in Germany and the art association has 693 members in 56 countries; artists, papermakers, scientist, conservators, educators from schools and universities, museum staff and people who are interested by paper in the broadest sense.

Im a proud member of this association and my artwork "Memories of a Summer" will be on display during the exhibition at Art Centre Silkebrog Bad in Denmark, February 7- May 25.

🥳 Paper Art Biennale 2026 is opening on Saturday 7th of February at 11 a.m 🎉
The venue for the opening is Art Centre Silkeborg Bad in Denmark and the exhibition will take place from February 7th to May 25th! 💖

Before I started dyeing the large sheets of paper, I cut out smaller strips of paper, which I dipped in the different dye baths. ⚗️

It's so much fun trying to get as many different shades of colour as possible. To keep track of the colour baths, I wrote the recipe on the paper strip itself. 🤓

I am so happy that my artwork “Memories of a Summer” has been selected for the IAPMA Paper Art Biennale 2026 at Art Centre Silkeborg Bad in Denmark. 💕

The theme is “Impressions of Nature: Paper as a Memory” and the exhibition runs from February 7 to May 25, 2026.

The colours symbolise the summer. The natural colours will fade and change over time, just ss the colours of summer are transient. The changes show how summer slowly transitions into autumn.

I coloured the paper with natural ingredients sush as decoction of red cabbage mixed with Baking powder, lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda. Yellow colour comes from Turmeric mixed with Gin. ☺️

At the end of September, we went out and installed the artwork in Galtström. How exciting and joyful it was! ✨🥰

The artwork was placed in a wonderful environment and in a location steeped in history.

Many thanks to Nora Sjöbom and Cecilia Arvidsson from SCA for bouncing ideas and helping with the paper, and to Jan Svedjebrant for the excellent placement of the artwork and for the wonderful tour of the area.

I would really like to thank Stina Danielsson at SCA for the opportunity to create a unique paper artwork.

The photographs were taken on site and show the specific ironworks environment in Galtström.

It turned out to be a small embroidered notebook, lying in its own box. 💕
I was so inspired after reading the book “Papper & stygn” (Paper & Stitches) by Monica Langwe

And what a fantastic book it is, packed with paper crafts, different projects to create, how to dye paper, and at the back of the book there are paper samples.

And the best part is the book cover itself, which cleverly envelops the contents. A fantastic book to draw inspiration from.

🌸The exhibition in Hamnmagasinet in Mellanfjärden can be seen in the gallery upstairs.
Fine works of art by 10 artists, displayed in this beautiful archipelago environment with fishing port. The exhibition can be seen until August 30 🌸
