The latin name “Aloë” roughly translates to “unknown origins” which illustrates the broad geographic variety of ingredients and inspirations that make up the menu. Sometimes perceived to be against the grain of Nordic Cuisine, as we do not focus on local produce, ecological or at all represent any form of Scandinavian cuisine. We chose to work with the

best produce wherever it comes from. Always highlighting quality ingredients married in intense but delicate flavor compositions. DANIEL HÖGLANDER
Silvermedalist in Bocuse d’Or 2001 with Henrik Norström. Also winner of both the 2002 Culinary World Cup in Luxemburg and 2004 Culinary Olympics in Erfurt with the Swedish national cooking team. Most notably co-founded the now two star Michelin restaurant Esperanto in 2005. NICLAS JÖNSSON
Previously worked at Mattias Dahlgren and Kitchenchef at Lux when awarded a Michelin star. Started the lunch restaurant Crispy Duck Café which proved to be the foundation for what is now Aloë.

After reflecting upon the recent passing of our co-founder Daniel Höglander, we have made the decision to pause Aloë from February 9th until further notice. We need time to regroup, heal and recover.

When the time is right, we look forward to return in the spirit of Daniel and his partner Niclas, determined to keep working towards our mutual long term goal - a 3-star rating.

This goal is what has inspired us to push ourselves to create and evolve beyond expectations. And that is what we will continue to strive towards, to provide you, our guests, with exquisite culinary journeys.

While we heal, please note that Rinos will be open as usual.

In Loving Memory of Daniel

We tragically lost Daniel, a devoted father, partner, and friend, far too soon. He leaves behind his six beloved children, as well as his loving partner, Mei-Ling.

Daniel’s children were his everything, and he dedicated his life to giving them love and security. He touched everyone he met with his warmth and generosity.

This fundraiser is to honor Daniel’s memory and support his family during this unimaginable time. The funds will help secure his children’s future and provide the stability he worked so hard to create.

Dear Friends,
As 2024 comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on a year that tested us in ways we never expected. It was a year of doubt, of challenges, and yet, against all odds, we rediscovered the boundless power of gastronomy—a power rooted in love, warmth, and a universal language that connects us all.
To our beloved customers: you are the heart and soul of everything we do. Your unwavering support, your choice to be a part of our journey, is the reason we are still here today. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for believing in us, for sharing your moments with us, and for standing by us.

This year, we also faced an immeasurable loss with the passing of our founder and greatest inspiration, Daniel Höglander. His vision, values, and passion continue to guide us, and we are committed to carrying his legacy into 2025 and beyond. Our deepest condolences go out to the Höglander family. Daniel’s spirit lives on in everything we do, and we will show the world the beauty he left behind.

To Emma and Jesper , thank you for inspiring our team to carry forward Daniel’s vision. Your guidance has been a light in our darkest moments. And to Emanuel Tärnqvist, your leadership and presence have been a source of strength for all of us.

Above all, we thank God—for granting us the courage to persevere, for blessing us with the support of our community, and for reminding us that even in uncertainty, there is hope and purpose.

Det är med tungt hjärta vi har mottagit beskedet om att vår käre vän, familjefar och kollega, Daniel Höglander, har lämnat oss efter ett hjärtstillestånd som inträffade av naturliga skäl.

Daniel var en enastående människa – en sann vän för oss som hade förmånen att lära känna honom. Hans passion lyste starkt, både i hans arbete och i hans privata liv. Det är en förkrossande förlust, men också en glädje och tacksamhet att vi fick vara en del av Daniels resa och dela ögonblick av hans liv.

Med respekt och kärlek ska vi arbeta för att Daniels arv lever vidare genom oss - i allt vi gör.

It is with heavy hearts that we have received the news that our dear friend, father, and colleague, Daniel Höglander, has passed away due to cardiac arrest caused by natural causes.

Daniel was an extraordinary person – a true friend to those of us fortunate enough to know him. His passion shone brightly, both in his work and his personal life. It is a devastating loss, but also a source of joy and gratitude that we were part of Daniel’s journey and shared moments of his life.
