Retro Bar

Retro Bar A secret haven for the eccentric and the alternative LGBTQIA+ crowd since the 90s. Whilst we err on the alternative side, we also enjoy a slice of camp.
(1293)

Tucked away down a little alley, this hidden gem is one of the West End’s friendliest LGBTQ+ venues. Occupying a site which has been a pub since the 17th century, Retro Bar has been a secret haven for the eccentric and the alternative LGBTQIA+ crowd since the 90s. Famous for our Insta-friendly rock ’n’ roll ‘gallery’ walls and eclectic jukebox, covering everything from 60's soul, garage and girl groups, to classic 70's from rock, punk rock to disco, into new wave & 80's electronic, 90's indie and 00's electroclash. A welcoming space for those who feel that they don’t quite fit in anywhere else.

Here we go again....

That’s right, we will back at our favourite West End boozer, The Retro Bar on Saturday December 12th & 19th to celebrate all things George/Wham/80s in what is now a much loved Christmas tradition.

2026 will mark the 10th year of George’s passing and the 9th year of our ‘Last Christmas’ party and we have some tricks planned up our Christmas crackers to mark the occasion.

Once again, the day is hosted by David Robson who will be joined by his festive fairies for cabaret, Quiz and Disco Dancing.

Acid Dandy will be back selling his unique brand pop culture inspired T shirts & upcycled denim with some exclusive Last Christmas/George Michael designs.

We have an offer on £11 Pint B**r Steins 🍺 and £3 Jägermeister shots atm 4-7pm Mon-Fri until October 11th 🩷 The Oktoberfest tradition began to celebrate the wedding of King Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Teresa. It was designed to unify the young kingdom and integrate diverse territories. By 1880, the festival transformed into a major b**r event as large breweries introduced b**r halls, cementing its economic importance. The Rosa Wiesn (Pink Wiesn) is a series of LGBT events held during Oktoberfest. The main gathering, Gay Sunday, takes place in the Bräurosl tent on the first Sunday. The tradition began in the 70s when members of the Münchner Löwen Club (MLC) reserved the Bräurosl balcony and were mistaken for a football club. The event became an annual gathering. 🩷🩷🩷

We’ve got tools, guides and practical advice to help you manage the messy bits of life

We share vital skills to support the young people in your life

Our communities help us share our message and get su***de prevention skills to the people who need it most.

‼️ If you’re struggling, or worried about someone you care about, we’ve got you. Hit the link in our bio for support: Campaign Against Living Miserably

The CALM helpline team is there if you can’t see a way forward, you have lost someone to su***de, or you are worried about someone. The number to call is: 0800 58 58 58
