Pessoa's Café is situated in the center of Tavira next to the river Gilão,
Filipe serves excelente wines from the Portuguese Algarve, Alentejo and Douro regions. We offer very nice exquise tapas, montaritos and salads, and besides drinks and food, every month a new art exhibition from artists from all over who landed in this beautiful town.

Valdemar Dória
Nasceu em 1974, na ilha de São Tomé e Príncipe
Aos sete anos muda-se para Portugal para viver e estudar.

Frequenta o curso de Design Gráfico na Universidade Lusófona, em Lisboa, onde faz também aulas de desenho de nú.
Com Mena Wagner faz ainda oficinas de pintura com pastel a óleo.
No seu trabalho, a maioria das figuras são moldadas em cores fortes e contornadas a negro, como saídas de uma luz saturnina, e flutuando numa ambiência mais intima (muita luz inibe a intimidade - diz.). Outras são mais esquemáticas e luminosas, reduzidas às suas linhas estruturais, numa simplificação inebriante.

Segundo o jornal espanhol "El pais" o Valdemar Dória tem um traço Picassiano…

He was born in 1974, on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe
At the age of seven he moved to Portugal to live and study.

He attends the Graphic Design course at the Lusófona University in Lisbon, where he also followed drawing of nudes classes
With Mena Wagner he also makes painting workshops with oil pastel.
In his work, most of the figures are shaped in strong colors and outlined in black, like outlets of a saturnine light, and floating in a more intimate ambience (much light inhibits intimacy - he says). Others are more schematic and luminous, reduced to its structural lines, into an intoxicating simplification.

According to the Spanish newspaper "El Pais" Valdemar Dória has a Picassian way of expression ...

Silvia Cavelti

Há algum tempo descobri que tudo à minha volta é uma forma dobrada, e mesmo o ser humano tem dobras no corpo. Assim, fiz as minhas próprias dobras.
A harmonia, que é equilíbrio, é a simetria de poder. Tento realizar isto no meu trabalho.
Com este seu trabalho, em que apresenta uma edição limitada de cópias para cada original, a um preço quase simbólico, Sílvia Cavelti quer também democratizar a arte; pretende assim que o seu trabalho possa ser adquirido por todos os que o apreciem, independentemente da sua maior ou menor possibilidade financeira.

One day I came to the conclusion that every part of us and around us everywhere is somehow folded. So I started my own foldings.
Harmony, that is balance, is symmetry of power. I try to realise it in my work.
With this work, in which she presents a limited edition of copies for each original, at a nearly symbolic price, Sílvia Cavelti also wants to democratize art; so that each copy of its work can be acquired by all who enjoy it, regardless of its greater or lesser financial possibility.

Isabel M. Marques pinta desde há muitos anos e utiliza como técnica colagem e pintura acrílica. Por norma o universo feminino é um tema recorrente nos seus trabalhos. Conta já com várias exposições realizadas em várias galerias e museus do país tendo nos últimos quatro anos exposto no Algarve onde reside e leciona desde 2015. Desses locais destacam-se a Biblioteca Municipal de Olhão onde já mostrou o seu trabalho por duas vezes, IPJ de Faro e Associação Re-criativa República 14.

Isabel M. Marques paints for many years now using normally mixed media technic (collage and acrylic). Her works explore the feminine universe. Throughout the years she exposed in many galleries and since 2015 in the Algarve, Olhão, (biblioteca Municipal de Olhão, IPJ de Faro, 4 Elementos and Re-criativa República 14) where she lives and teaches ever since.
