An evening dedicated to one of Germany’s most celebrated biodynamic producers.

From the limestone-rich vineyards of the Pfalz, Frank John crafts wines of remarkable precision, energy, and sense of place. We are delighted to welcome Dorothea John, daughter of Frank and Gerlinde John, who will be joining us to pour a selection of the estate’s wines and share the stories, people, and philosophy behind them.

A rare opportunity to experience these wines firsthand, explore the character of one of Germany’s most compelling wine estates, and hear directly from the family behind the bottles.

Grilled octopus with lobster bisque risotto, tomato seeds and green chili oil — from our new menu.

A classic Portuguese combination, reimagined in our own way.

We make it as a creamy risotto, enriched with lobster bisque and a touch of Cognac, then finish it with fresh tomato seeds and green chili oil for brightness.

It’s deep and comforting, but still fresh.
Rich, but not heavy.
Portuguese at heart, Borboleta in spirit.

Polvo grelhado com risotto de bisque de lagosta, sementes de tomate e óleo de malagueta verde — do nosso novo menu.

Uma combinação clássica portuguesa, reinterpretada à nossa maneira.

Fazemos como um risotto cremoso, enriquecido com bisque de lagosta e um toque de Cognac, e finalizamos com sementes de tomate fresco e óleo de malagueta verde para trazer frescura.

É profundo e reconfortante, mas ainda fresco.
Rico, mas não pesado.

Warm evenings have properly arrived in Porto, and Borboleta is settling into the season. We’re open Wednesday to Monday: 12:00–16:00 & 18:45–23:00 on weekdays, and 12:00–23:00 on weekends.

The current seasonal menu is still very much here — but not for much longer. We’re putting the final touches on a new one, arriving soon.
Until then: long lunches, slow dinners, good wine, and a few more evenings exactly as they should be.

As noites quentes já chegaram ao Porto, e a Borboleta entra naturalmente nesse ritmo. Estamos abertos de quarta a segunda: 12:00–16:00 & 18:45–23:00 nos dias úteis, e 12:00–23:00 aos fins de semana.

O menu sazonal atual continua muito presente à mesa — mas não por muito mais tempo. Estamos nos últimos detalhes do novo menu, que chega em breve.

Some things arrive at Borboleta and quietly refuse to leave.

Chef Kate discovered these sauces by Dame Un Muerdo at a food exhibition in Lisbon — and immediately wanted to bring them back to Porto and share them with our guests.

Crafted in small batches in Spain, these ketchups and mustards are made with natural local ingredients and full of combinations that are both unexpected and strangely addictive.

Now waiting on our little shelf at Borboleta.

A Chef Kate descobriu estes molhos da Dame Un Muerdo numa feira gastronómica em Lisboa — e quis logo trazê-los para partilhar com os nossos convidados.

Produzidos artesanalmente em Espanha, em pequenos lotes e com ingredientes locais naturais, estes ketchups e mostardas surpreendem pelas combinações inesperadas e pela qualidade.

Já estão à espera na nossa pequena prateleira na Borboleta.
