KEVIN & CURTIS’ WEDDING
🇬🇧There is a unique magic when a couple chooses Portugal to take the most important step of their lives. For this very special destination wedding at the breathtaking Quinta de São Bernardo, I created a stationery suite that is a true love letter with references to our culture.
Guided by a palette of forest green, light orange, and the delicacy of lilac, the stationery is born from three concepts: the reinterpretation of our traditional tiles in watercolor, a sketch of the couple’s favorite view at Quinta de São Bernardo, and the illustrations of the signature cocktails (blending sketch and watercolor) chosen to toast to Kevin & Curtis' love.
Through a light approach driven by loose strokes, the foundation was laid for an elegant and sophisticated stationery with high-personality tones. A hand-crafted artistic tribute that celebrates the perfect union between contemporary design and traditional Portuguese charm.

🇵🇹Há uma magia única quando um casal escolhe Portugal para dar o passo mais importante das suas vidas. Para este destination wedding tão especial na deslumbrante Quinta de São Bernardo, criei um estacionário que é uma verdadeira carta de amor com referências à nossa cultura.
Guiado por uma paleta de verde floresta, laranja claro e a delicadeza do lilás, o estacionário nasce de três imagens: da reinterpretação dos nossos azulejos em aguarela, do desenho da vista preferida da Quinta de São Bernardo e das ilustrações dos cocktails de assinatura (que fundem desenho e aguarela) escolhidos para brindar ao amor do Kevin & Curtis.
Através de uma abordagem leve e regida pelo gesto solto, nasceram as bases para um estacionário elegante, sofisticado e em tons com muita personalidade. Uma homenagem artística feita à mão que celebra a união perfeita entre o design contemporâneo e o charme tradicional português.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SHAPES IN WEDDINGS

- Organic and Fluid Lines: Soft curves, free-flowing brushstrokes, and botanical-inspired shapes evoke lightness, romance, and a sense of natural movement. This is a design that breathes—ideal for outdoor weddings or events with a strong artistic, immersive quality.

- Strict Geometry and Straight Lines: Squares, rectangles, and symmetrical designs convey order, modernity, and grandeur. They evoke architectural luxury, precision, and an urban, cosmopolitan atmosphere.

- Hand-Torn Edges: Hand-torn edges break the rigidity of pure geometric forms. They introduce the concept of deliberate imperfection, adding texture, a human touch, and a profound sense of exclusivity and history to the paper.

If colors stir emotion, shapes and lines define the event's "tone of voice." The way illustrations and stationery layouts are designed shapes the guests' perception.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF WEDDING COLORS

- Neutral and Organic Tones (Beiges, Off-Whites, Taupes): Convey serenity, understated sophistication, and timelessness. They signal an elegant wedding focused on minimalist luxury and the authenticity of materials.

- Blues and Greens: Evoke stability, nobility, and a deep connection to nature or history (think of Portuguese palaces or the slopes of the Douro Valley). They create an atmosphere of respect and solemnity.

- Warm and Vibrant Tones (Terracotta, Burgundy, Soft Peach): Foster a sense of closeness, passion, and coziness. They are perfect for weddings aiming for a festive, warm atmosphere where guests immediately feel "at home."

Using classic manual techniques such as painting, drawing, and embroidery on unique papers, I create organic textures and volumes that respond to the ambient light.

O meu pseudónimo, a pajarita , é colorido, texturado e complexo. Alimenta-se da emoção vibrante e da pluralidade da expressão.
Assume-se como espelho da alma, um fio condutor entre a união de dois (dos casais com quem trabalho) e a sua projeção no estacionário de casamento. Aqui, a vida é exaltada, leve e florescida.Mais do que me retratar a desenhar, eu tinha de vestir o meu estado de espírito, viver dentro da minha expressão. Procurava mais simbolismo e menos evidência.

My pseudonym, A Pajarita, is colorful, textured, and complex.
It feeds on vibrant emotion and the plurality of expression.It acts as a mirror of the soul, a common thread between the union of two people (the couples I work with) and its projection onto their wedding stationery.
Here, life is celebrated, light, and in full bloom.
More than just portraying myself drawing, I had to embody my state of mind, to live inside my own expression. I was looking for more symbolism and less evidence.
