Welcoming our neighborhood Mama’s Dinner for the Third Edition

The super savoury menu featured:

🧀 Sesame crusted feta and halloumi cheese drizzled in hot honey and star anise raspberry jam

🍆 Charred baba ganoush with pulled beef and cilantro lime chimi-churri

🥕 Ribbon carrot and pomegranate salad

🍇 Spiced rice grapeleaf sarma with dill tzatziki

🌶️ Acuka always because it’s the effing bomb

🍰 Raw chilled cake layered with a peanut butter and granola crust, fudge brownie date center and dusted in coconut with red berry compote

These days I feel like I’m part chef, part moving/ car packing Tetris queen and definitely part content creator.

The endless juggle between getting that perfect picture and making sure the food doesn’t get cold is the real struggle.

There’s something so special about working alongside women who are talented, hardworking, and passionate about what they do.

Watching a chef I admire lead the team with confidence and creativity is a reminder of how inspiring it is to learn from strong women in this industry. It is such a privilege to assist Céline Bangay-Wilding | Chef and to create all day with the team who showed up for her.

We came, we cooked (an unbelievable menu), and we conquered- followed by ch*****ne and glittery dessert straight from the Tupperware ✨

Here’s to women supporting women, creating magic in the kitchen, and to working with an entire team, from bar to kitchen to event planner, all WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS! 👑🥂

There’s something unforgettable about a dinner that begins beneath a golden Portuguese sunset. ✨

At Hortas da Rainha, the evening unfolds naturally — long tables surrounded by olive trees, warm candlelight flickering as the sun goes down, glasses catching the last rays of light, and the first course arriving just as the sky turns from gold to soft pink.

For me, these are the moments that make a wedding dinner feel truly special. It’s not just about what’s on the table, but how the setting, the food, the light, and the people come together to create a feeling.

For me, yaprak sarma is more than a dish. After living six years in Turkey, I saw that this food was one that brought women together at the table, carefully softening each grape leaf, spooning in the filling, and rolling each one by hand—often preparing hundreds for family gatherings and celebrations.

I first saw sarma made at the school I worked at as a kindergarten teacher. I loved that it represented the food history that lives in hands rather than cookbooks: patience, skill, care, and knowledge passed from mothers and grandmothers to daughters.

The labor of women has shaped Turkish cuisine in countless quiet ways, and every little roll of dolma holds a piece of that story. 🍃 I feel very lucky to have tasted it made a 100 different ways and to now be serving it on tables across Portugal 💚

Under a date caramel mascarpone cream frosting (with edible glitter of course) is a layered dark chocolate and orange birthday cake for one of our best friends and amazing memeber of the Sebze crew Eva Sal.

🍊 Not only is Sara a one-of-a-kind homie, she’s also a dancing partner, a creative jewellery making queen, the entrepreneur of Sal Drinks and a crew member of our village motherhood squad 💚
