It's April 25th.

Day of liberation from fascism in Italy.
Day of the revolution and the end of the dictatorship in Portugal.

We have always dedicated ourselves to our causes and our ideals through cuisine and our culture.
We have never cared about the consequences, we expose ourselves because we follow what is right and we always will.

Without fear of losing anything.
Tonight we celebrate our day, like a normal day, because for us liberation from oppression is every day.

Long live April 25th. Freedom every day.

Before the end of 2023, we got together to speak about Palestine. We shared tables and broke bread while sharing our thoughts and feelings. We learned about Aparthied Free Zones and how to cut all ties to any organisation or product that is tied to the Israeli occupation. We raised money and sent it to an organisation working in Gaza. We hoped for an end to the carnage before the end of the year. Sadly, it hasn't. The Israeli aggression continues in many forms, bombing, land invasions, blockade, and the people suffer in loss, starvation, a freezing winter, and no place to go. We will remain focused on sharing knowledge, exposing the truth, and boycotting.

We start this new year with a heavy heart but with a hopeful soul. A soul that believes in justice and everlasting hope for a better world. We hope for this coming year that Palestinians will achieve the long overdue freedom that they deserve. Freedom and justice to Palestine and to all oppressed beings of this world.

SPEAK PALESTINE

It has never been more pressing to gather and speak about Palestine. Palestinians have endured decades of ethnic cleansing, apartheid and opression, yet, a colonised narrative in the western media is yet again attempting to wipe out the collective memory by continuing to refer to October 7th as the beginning and reason for the heinous crimes being commited by Israel. Israel is exterminating Gazans in front of our eyes.

We get together in defiance of this narrative and in solidarity with Palestinians, a people that need and deserve justice and freedom.

This coming Monday, we host a fundraiser dinner serving Palestinian and Neapolitan dishes. We talk about the power of BDS and we explain Apartheid Free Zones.

Tickets sold at 40 euros. Further donations are possible during the event. The proceeds will be donated to Inara and its initiative: 2M for Gaza.

Zait ou Za'atar served with local olive oil and artisanal sourdough bread. Aside from the incredible flavour, the leaf holds a significance for the Palestinians against the brutal colonisation of their land and identity.

The Za'atar mix is made from wild thyme that grows naturally in the levant region. It's got rounder and fluffier leaves than normal thyme, and the flavour is slightly spicier. People from the levant create a mixture with sesame seeds and sumac to make a breakfast staple served as such for dipping or placed on dough and made into manakeesh. It is also enjoyed with local fresh cheese, salads, and much more.

In the late 70s Israel declared za'atar as an endagered plant and prohibited Palestinians from gathering the wild leaf; one of the many forms of colonisation Israel carries out in Palestine and thus making it's continued use one of the many forms of Palestinian resistance.
