As part of our recent visit to Graciosa we were very lucky to be able to visit a producer of the IGP Graciosa Garlic Adega e Cooperativa Agrícola da Ilha Graciosa. The smell in the shed was amazing! It was also fascinating to learn about the unique garlic and how the process works. The last weeding before harvest is still done with Graciosa Donkeys to protect the delicate leaves which would be crushed by machines for instance. We brought enough garlic back to keep vampires away for years! We are not processing it in some new ways so watch this space for some exciting new ingredients!

When our cheese producer from Queijaria Furnense gets married, it was highly likely that tractors were never going to be far away! Paula and Adriano!!!!!!!!

While the early morning trip to pick up food that had been cooking geothermally overnight was significantly less attractive than the proposition of an extra half an hour in bed, the views on an amazing sunny morning made up for it.

After a busy start to our summer, a very brief break to recharge before starting again. Beautiful views including 5 Azorean islands at the same time. Not a complete break as we were visiting some of our artesanal producers to learn more about what they do and to look for and try great new Azorean produce and the stories behind it.
