It was a great night with Declan back at Restaurante Olímpico last night, having missed last week due to wedding commitments.

The temperature was perfect and the terrace, as always, was full! And in amongst the crowd were a few singers, which is a good part of what our Sundays are all about. So we say thank you to those who stepped up to the mic and gave us a song or three: they were….

…. Ivone, Julie, her husband Douglas, John, Paul, and finally, Caroline. Ivone also duetted with Declan on ‘Islands In The Stream’, as did Caroline with Declan for ‘Proud Mary’, as did Paul at the very end of the night for ‘Unforgettable’ - a request for Dave Calder.

Congratulations to Steve and Jo who were celebrating 40 years of marriage! And to Andrew who was celebrating his birthday!

Dîmas and his staff certainly had their work cut out but, as always, they coped admirably.

We had a great night at Restaurante Olímpico with Declan last night - the terrace was completely packed to capacity with a huge crowd! And although not quite fully recovered from his recent chest infection, there were a nice number of singers in among the audience to assist at the evening went on.

So, many thanks to…. Sarah, Olivia and Ollie, Michael (a.k.a. ‘Quiggs’), Becky, Ana and Matilda, John-Darragh and Riley, Rocha and Leah, Alanagh, Sebastian and Jacob, and finally, Olímpico’s very own Ana and Mariana.

Dîmas and his staff certainly had their work cut out but, as always, they coped admirably.

Then there was the huge table at the back, there to celebrate their French friend Lauren celebrate his 60th birthday!

So, the much talked about football match wasn’t moved in the end, clearing the way for another great night at Restaurante Olímpico with Declan, last night! The terrace was soon full to capacity, even if a few were there to watch Brasil v Norway. And, as always, we had a few singers in the audience. So, we say thank you to….

…. Julie, Matilda, Susana (who treated everybody to some Portuguese Fado!), Charlie, Douglas, Terry, Lynn and Sue, and finally, Olímpico’s very Ana and here are sidekick - daughter Mariana!

Thanks to Dîmas and his crew who, as always, coped admirably in keeping the service going throughout the whole of the evening!

It was another great night at Restaurante Olímpico with Declan, last night! The weather was good to us once again and, by sunset, the terrace was full! And again, by the end of the night, almost everybody was up on their feet dancing. We had a few singers in amongst the crowd too - some familiar faces and some new. So, we say thank you to….

…. Julie, her husband Douglas, Paul, John, Jade, who sang with her daughter Charlotte, and then duetted with Declan for The Beautiful South’s ‘Perfect 10’. Finally, there was Ana and her daughter, Mariana, who always bring the house down with Dido’s ‘White Flag’.

Many thanks to Dîmas and all his staff who kept everybody fed and watered throughout the course of the evening.

We had another brilliant night at Restaurante Olímpico with Declan Ryan, last Sunday night! The weather was glorious and we had another packed terrace! By the end of the night, most of the assembled crowd were up on their feet dancing! And as is so often the case with our Sunday afternoons here at Olímpico, we had a few singers amongst the crowd.

So, thank you to all those ‘eager beavers’ who braved it up to the mic to sing us a song or two! They were…. Paul, John, Lee (who played guitar and sang a couple of his own compositions), Trish, her husband Ian, Mo, Amanda, and finally Patsy.

We also remembered one of our regulars who passed away recently: Rhona Bradley. Rhona was a regular at both Olímpico and O Favinha, where our Sunday afternoons began. Rhona always liked to sing ‘Only You’ by Yazoo and ABBA’s ‘I Have a Dream’. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. We’ve included a couple of photos of Rhona in our montage today.

Dîmas and all his staff were on form as always, ensuring that nobody went hungry or thirsty.

We had another nice night at Restaurante Olímpico with Declan Ryan, last night! A little ‘calmer’ than last week but still a good night, nonetheless. And as is always the case, there were a few singers in the audience. So, with that….
