No two stays should feel exactly the same. 🌿 Here is a glimpse into our vision for the guest rooms at Hotel Carmen.

We are moving away from the cookie-cutter resort experience. Every single room is being curated with its own unique style and earthy character.

It's still very much a construction zone, but the foundation is set. Because we want this to be a true family-friendly hideaway, we’re also including the option to adjoin rooms - so you can bring the kids and still have space to spread out.

We still have a lot of work to do, but we couldn't be more excited to open our doors and welcome you in just a few short months!

Ninguna estadía debería sentirse exactamente igual. 🌿 Aquí un vistazo a nuestra visión para las habitaciones de Hotel Carmen.

Nos estamos alejando de la típica experiencia de resort. Cada habitación está siendo diseñada cuidadosamente con su propio estilo único y carácter terrenal, por lo que no habrá dos espacios idénticos.

Aún es en gran parte una zona de construcción, pero la base ya está lista. Como queremos que este sea un verdadero refugio familiar, también estamos incluyendo la opción de habitaciones conectadas, para que puedas traer a los niños y aún así tener espacio para todos.

Aún nos queda mucho trabajo por delante, ¡pero no podríamos estar más emocionados de abrir nuestras puertas y darles la bienvenida en solo unos pocos meses!

The first point of contact. 🌿 Here is our vision board for the Hotel Carmen lobby.

The goal is simple: an unhurried space that blurs the line between indoors and out. We are bringing in warm terracotta, tactile greenery, and classic patterned tiles to anchor the room.

While we're still in the buildout phase, the foundation is solid. We're slowly carving out a quiet place for you to drop your bags and transition to the local pace.

El primer punto de contacto. 🌿 Este es nuestro tablero de inspiración para el lobby del Hotel Carmen.

El objetivo es simple: un espacio sin prisas que difumine la frontera entre el interior y el exterior. Estamos incorporando una cálida terracota, vegetación con textura y azulejos de patrones clásicos para darle carácter al lugar.

Aunque todavía estamos en la fase de construcción, las bases son sólidas. Poco a poco estamos creando un rincón tranquilo para que dejes tus maletas y te adaptes al ritmo local.

Aunque el área de la piscina no será visible desde la calle, esta vista les da una idea de la distribución y el diseño del hotel.

Rush hour in Vieques. 🌊🐴

There is a wild, unscripted magic to Vieques that you simply can't manufacture. Sharing the shoreline with the island's free-roaming horses isn't a tourist attraction - it’s just a part of the everyday rhythm here. No schedules, no rush, just the sound of the trade winds and hooves in the surf.

We’re designing Hotel Carmen to blend effortlessly into this backdrop, creating a space that steps back and lets the island speak for itself.

La hora pico en Vieques. 🌊🐴

Hay una magia salvaje y espontánea en Vieques que simplemente no se puede fabricar. Compartir la costa con los caballos en libertad de la isla no es una atracción turística; es sencillamente parte del ritmo cotidiano de este lugar. Sin horarios, sin prisas, solo el sonido de los vientos alisios y los cascos en las olas.

Estamos diseñando el Hotel Carmen para que se integre de forma natural en este paisaje, creando un espacio que pase a un segundo plano y deje que la isla hable por sí misma.

The art of doing absolutely nothing, elevated. ✨ Here is our vision board for the pool deck.

We want this space to bring instant relaxation - an earthy, sun-drenched oasis where you can wash off the ocean salt and slip right into island time. We are bringing in natural stone, tranquil water features, warm wooden privacy screens, and classic striped loungers.

Right now, it’s mostly raw concrete and rebar, but with those palm trees swaying overhead, we can already feel the magic of this space coming together.

El arte de no hacer absolutamente nada, llevado a otro nivel. ✨ Les compartimos nuestro tablero de inspiración para el área de la piscina.

Queremos que este espacio invite a relajarse al instante: un oasis natural, bañado por el sol, donde puedas quitarte la sal del mar y entrar de lleno en el ritmo de la isla. Incorporaremos piedra natural, relajantes fuentes de agua, cálidos paneles de madera para mayor privacidad y las clásicas tumbonas de rayas.

Por ahora, es mayormente concreto y varillas, pero con esas palmas meciéndose en lo alto, ya podemos sentir la magia de este espacio tomando forma.

Welcome to the next chapter of Hotel Carmen. 🌴

We are so incredibly excited to finally pull back the curtain on our complete renovation of this property here in Puerto Rico. We are taking the bones of this space and breathing new life into these walls, curating an earthy, barefoot-luxury retreat that honors the unhurried spirit of Vieques.

It might look like a lot of concrete, dust, and scaffolding right now, but our vision is clear.
