Khanabadosh Baithak

For a long time now, a bunch of friends get together over stimulating conversation, invigorating silences and of course, the perfect cup of tea. Inevitably every fortnight or so, as the evening draws to a close, the colloquy meanders from chit-chat to philosophy and tiptoes into a deeper introspective on life. Declarations, aspirations, confessions, all our lonely burdens, but always that one shar

ed dream that, once pronounced, elicits wistful sighs all around. To look beyond the self, to look within,
to forget the gift of sight so we can learn to see again,
To be born anew, to birth the new earth. We are a band of divergent thinkers, dreamers, doers and this is our light-house. We tell our stories through travel interspersed with writing, drawing, music, film, design and performance arts. You could call us Experience Curators. We create, organise, produce and present immersive experiences with the intention of imbuing lives with cultural richness, meaningful encounters, and healthier perspectives. With a side of entirely delectable edibles, because, well, food! The Khanabadosh Baithak is the first strand of our bigger vision and is located at Shigar, Gilgit Baltistan. It combines all our various interests at a gorgeous riverbank- and to complete the whole 'serene-haven-of-spiritual-healing-and-such' thing we have going- it's accessed by a delightful wooden bridge. Pretty sweet, we think. We have a range of available and in-production activities/performances lined-up for our patrons; storytelling, music, theatre and craft workshops, yoga retreats, documentary screenings, but also: authentic Balti cuisine as well as old favourites at the table. Alongside the café, there is a well-equipped space available for campers to spend the night under a bejewelled night sky; the perfect setting for a communion with nature and bonding with fellow travellers over campfire stories. Drop us a line if you would like more information, share your experience, or if you have an idea you'd like our involvement in. We are all about exploratory collaborations with other wandering enthusiasts out there.
