𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• 1 kg beef, sliced into bite-size pieces
• 3 tbsp soy sauce
• 2 tbsp calamansi juice or lemon juice
• 6 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 medium onion, sliced
• 1/2 cup tomato sauce
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 2 pcs bay leaves
• 1 tsp whole peppercorns
• 1/2 cup water
• 2 tbsp cooking oil
• Salt to taste

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

1️⃣ In a bowl, combine the beef, soy sauce, and calamansi or lemon juice. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2️⃣ Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant and the onion becomes soft.

3️⃣ Add the marinated beef. Reserve any remaining marinade. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.

4️⃣ Pour in the reserved marinade, tomato sauce, ketchup, and water. Stir until well combined.

5️⃣ Add the brown sugar, bay leaves, and whole peppercorns. Mix well and bring the sauce to a gentle boil.

6️⃣ Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for about 45–60 minutes or until the beef is tender. Add a little more water if needed.

7️⃣ Once the beef is tender, remove the lid and simmer for another 5–10 minutes until the sauce becomes thick, rich, and glossy.

8️⃣ Taste and season with salt as needed. Adjust the sweetness or tanginess according to your preference.

9️⃣ Turn off the heat and let the Beef Asado rest for a few minutes before serving.

🔟 Serve hot with freshly cooked rice and enjoy! 🍚
