I came across a post saying that the economy we’re in right now isn’t exactly MSME-friendly, and as a 20-year-old trying to keep a small business alive, I couldn’t agree more.

Ang hirap maging small business owner ngayon. You work so hard to make sales, only to realize that most of what you earn is already allocated to rent, electricity, employee wages, taxes, permits, and ingredients that keep getting more expensive.

And sometimes, I wonder, how much more can small businesses afford to carry?

Not everyone can afford to fail. Especially those of us who’ve poured our savings, time, and everything we have into building something from nothing.

My heart goes out to every business owner who had to close their doors—not because they lacked passion or hard work, but because sustaining their businesses became more expensive than they could afford.

I love what I do. But loving your business doesn’t mean you’re immune to the pressure of keeping it alive. You can give something your whole heart and still struggle to afford to keep doing it.

I hope our government creates an environment where MSMEs don’t have to constantly fight just to survive. We understand our responsibilities, including paying taxes, but shouldn’t small businesses also have a fair chance to thrive?

To everyone who continues to support small businesses, please know that every purchase means more than you realize. Sometimes, it’s what keeps an employee paid, ingredients stocked, and a dream alive for another day.

Here’s to hoping that someday, small businesses won’t just be celebrated for their resilience, but will finally be given a fairer chance to thrive. 🙏

“Aren’t you shy to sell cookies?”

I’ve heard this before, and it stayed with me for a while.

But I never really let it get to me. If anything, I found it funny—bc I’m actually proud to sell cookies.

There’s nothing embarrassing about creating something with your own hands, putting your name behind it, and working hard to make it grow. I’d rather be known as the girl who was brave enough to start sumthing rather than the girl who was too afraid of what ppl might say.

I started with a small idea, a little savings, and a whole lot of hope. Now, I get to see people line up for something I created. I get to provide jobs, pay bills, learn how to run a business, and build something that’s mine.

And yk what? That’s nothing to be ashamed of.

So no, I’m not shy to sell cookies.
I’m proud of it. And I’ll keep selling them until this little business becomes everything I know it can be.

Never be embarrassed by the work that’s building the life you want. Keep grinding! 😉
