Besaga Beachfront Bed & Breakfast – Port Barton is looking for an:

ALL-AROUND LOGISTICS & MAINTENANCE STAFF
We're looking for someone dependable, honest, trustworthy, hardworking, and willing to help keep our beachfront home clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include:
• General property maintenance and minor repairs
• Keeping outdoor and common areas clean and orderly
• Sweeping, raking leaves and maintaining the beachfront/property grounds
• Assisting with moving, deliveries, supplies and other logistics
• Basic gardening and upkeep
• Helping with setup, storage and other operational needs
• Reporting maintenance concerns before they become bigger problems
• Assisting the team wherever an extra pair of hands is needed

We're looking for someone who:
• Is hardworking, responsible and trustworthy
• Takes initiative and doesn't always need to be told what needs to be done
• Knows how to maintain cleanliness and organization
• Is comfortable with physical/outdoor work
• Can handle basic maintenance and repairs
• Works well with a team
• Loves dogs and is comfortable working around our resident furbabies 🐾
• Preferably lives in or near Port Barton

Experience in maintenance, construction, gardening, resorts, hotels or similar work is an advantage, but good attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter most.

Some things are worth preserving. 🌿

As we refresh our homey cottages at Besaga, we’re keeping our traditional nipa roofs. Carefully woven, thoughtfully laid, and part of the Filipino charm we love.

Metal roofing would cost us less and be easier to install, but we continue to choose nipa for its natural beauty and the comfort it brings, helping shelter our cottages from the intense island heat.

It takes more care and investment, but keeping that familiar feeling of a Filipino home is worth it to us. 🤎

A little pause to make coming home even sweeter. 🤎🌴

Besaga Café & Restaurant and Besaga Bed & Breakfast will be temporarily closed from September 16 to October 7, 2026, as we give our island home some extra love.

We’ll welcome you back on October 8, 2026, with refreshed, homey cottages and a new menu by Chef Cy, inspired by the comforting flavors of a Filipino home. Think familiar dishes, generous stories around the table, and that warm feeling of being told, “Kain na!”

Thank you for making Besaga part of your travels, meals, and memories. We can’t wait to share this next chapter with you.

Bringing Kinilaw Canteen’s fresh ceviche, tacos and island favorites together with our little home by the sea. 🐟🌮🍹

For the rest of the low season, you’ll find Kinilaw with Besaga, right here on our beachfront. Fresh catch, good food, cold drinks, sandy feet and that Port Barton sea breeze we never get tired of. ☀️

A little collaboration, a little something new, but still very much part of the Besaga experience. 🤎

Somewhere along the way, we realized it was time to come home. 🤎

Besaga has watched Port Barton grow and change through the years—and we've grown with it.

In our early days, Besaga wasn't simply a place to sleep and eat. We shared our everyday life with our guests. We sat around the table, shared stories, cooked together, and some may even remember grating fresh coconuts and squeezing the gata by hand before enjoying the food we prepared.
They didn't just experience Besaga. For a little while, they became part of our home.

Then life changed.
COVID came. Typhoon Odette came. Tourism changed. Like everyone else, we adapted. We adjusted our menu and served the pizzas, pastas, burgers and café favorites many of you have come to love—and we're forever grateful for your support.

But somewhere along the way, we asked ourselves:
What do we want Besaga's table to say about us?

Perhaps the answer was here all along.
Our family. Our memories. Our island. And the food that has been part of all of it.

So we're returning to our roots, but we're not going backwards.

Family recipes will share the table with Chef Cy's own creations. Filipino comfort food will sit alongside flavors inspired by different chapters of her culinary journey.
Familiar, but with room to explore.

This chapter also brings us closer to an advocacy we've long wanted to pursue: supporting local farmers, fishermen and producers whenever possible.

It hasn't been easy. Middlemen, seasonality, availability, logistics and pricing remain real challenges. We can't promise everything will be locally sourced, but we can begin.
One ingredient. One farmer. One fisherman. One relationship at a time.

Rooted in family, Port Barton, and the memories that shaped us. Inspired by our island, our community, Chef Cy's culinary journey, and everything we've learned along the way.

This isn't about becoming a different Besaga.
It's about remembering what made Besaga, Besaga.

Good food. A welcoming table. Shared stories. And a place that feels a little like home, even when you're far from yours.

Every season brings its own challenges, and this off-season has certainly tested us. But if there's one thing we're proud of, it's that we've faced it, and still facing it together.

Our recent BCM Team Building wasn't just a day off. It was a chance to pause, reconnect, celebrate the people who make everything possible, and remind ourselves why we do what we do.

From preparing meals and baking breads, to welcoming guests, cleaning rooms, making coffee, serving comfort food, guiding underwater adventures, and wearing many hats in betwee, every role matters. Every person matters.

To our entire BCM family, thank you for your dedication, resilience, and the heart you bring every single day. The friendships we've built and the memories we've shared are what make us stronger, not only as a team but as a family.

Here's to growing together, supporting one another, and continuing to create experiences worth remembering.

As Port Barton eases into the quieter rhythm of the off-season, we’ll be adjusting our operating hours starting June 16 until further notice.

While the town may be a little less busy, our passion for good food, warm hospitality, and meaningful moments remains the same. ❤️

We are still here. Baking, brewing, cooking, and creating with the same love and care we've always shared with our guests and community.

Thank you for continuing to support local businesses during the quieter months. Every visit, every coffee, and every meal means more than you know.
