We’ve just wrapped up an amazing season at Casa Bulaquena! Following the unforgettable War of the Chickens event, Casa B will now be closing for the rainy season.

We’ll be back and better than ever in December 2026, ready to welcome you with cool weather, clear skies, beautiful sunsets, and unforgettable experiences once again.

Thank you to all our wonderful guests who made this season so special. We can’t wait to see you when the dry season returns!

In the farmlands of the countryside in San Rafael, Bulacan, a delicious showdown between two iconic Filipino chicken dishes is entering its final two weeks.

Casa Bulaqueña proudly presents the War of the Chickens — a special side-by-side tasting of:

In a playful twist on Juan Luna’s beloved painting La Bulaqueña, we gave our muse an abanico to gently hide her smile. There she is — eyes full of quiet knowing, as if she’s sharing a little secret with us.

We named our farm restaurant Casa Bulaqueña after her.

Luna’s original masterpiece shows a graceful Filipina woman wearing the elegant Traje de Mestiza. For many of us, she has always represented the Bulakenya women of old — their quiet strength, their dignified poise, and most especially, their warm and nurturing hearts. These are the mothers, lolas, and titas whose hands fed generations with love and patience.

At Casa Bulaqueña, we honor that same spirit. The abanico that covers her smile reminds us of the gentle warmth and comforting feeling we want every guest to experience. Every dish we serve carries the rich flavors and traditions of Bulacan — prepared with care, just like how our ancestors did it in their own kitchens.
This is our humble way of bringing the heart of our province to your table. Simple, sincere, and full of love.
