I'm starting over with my business. Here's why...
Three years ago, I started Phin&Co after facing countless job rejections.
As a fresh graduate then, I applied to so many jobs and got hiredโonly to be laid off shortly after for reasons beyond my control. If I'm being honest, it really took a toll on me. While many of my friends were building their careers, I found myself back at square one, wondering what came next.
I had no job and plenty of time on my hands, and after getting tired of constantly submitting applications with little to no response, I found myself scrolling through TikTok looking for ways to earn. That's when I discovered people making and selling DIY satin flowers. I gave it a try, but eventually realised it wasn't something I truly enjoyed or could sustain. (I still have way too many satin ribbons if anyone wants them. Bekenemen. Bili nyo na hehe extra funds din pu ๐คญ)
That experience led me back to something I had always lovedโbaking.
With very limited resources and my 9-year-old oven, I started baking cookies from home. I didn't have everything figured out, but I knew I had to start somewhere.
That small step turned into a business that lasted about three years. It was an on-and-off journey filled with trial and error, plenty of starts and stops, and lessons I could only learn by doing.
You might be thinking, "Three years? Dapat solid na business mo by now ah!" ๐
Fair. I've thought the same. Maybe if I'd been more consistent or knew then what I know now, things would've looked different. But my journey wasn't picture-perfectโit was messy, imperfect, and real.
Every mistake, every pause, every restart helped shape the entrepreneur I'm becoming.
Looking back, I don't see those three years as wasted. I see them as years spent building resilience and becoming the person I needed to be.
Now, I'm starting againโwith a stronger foundation and a clearer purpose. I still have so much to learn, but this time I'm choosing to embrace the process instead of fearing it.
Honestly, sharing this wasn't easy. But I know I'm not the only one who's ever felt lost or had to start over.
This is also a reminder to myself: I already took the first step once. I can do it again. Growth isn't always loud or linear, and that's okay. What matters is that I keep showing up. And today, I did. First content... again. Hehe ๐
And to everyone who's made it this far, thank you for being here. Thank you for taking the time to pause, scroll, and read my story. It truly means more than you know.
Salamat puu.
