At Asador Alfonso, we believe the experience begins long before the first course is served.

After the drive from the city, we wanted our guests to have a space to pause, relax, and reconnect with nature before dinner. Designed by Carlo Calma, “The Lagoon” is an architectural sanctuary nestled within the water, a place where art, design, and nature beautifully coexist.
Here, guests are welcomed with light appetizers and our homemade vermouth as they ease into the evening before entering Asador Alfonso.

We are truly excited to welcome you and share what we do here in our home, one experience, one story, and one memorable meal at a time.

The seasons play a big role in what we do at Asador Alfonso. Changing weather conditions and temperatures affect the quality of the ingredients, and we not only utilize the best ingredients Spain has to offer, but we wish to serve them when they’re at their peak.

Currently in season, we focus our gaze on the artichoke. While bottled versions preserved in vinegar are available all year long, fresh artichokes when roasted is truly something to be savored when the opportunity presents itself. As part of our multi-course menu, it exemplifies the importance of seasonality in Spanish culinary heritage.

Salpicón de bogavante— a festive dish available at Asador Alfonso only during this celebrated season, starting December 25th.

We plucked beautiful lobster from the cold waters of the Atlantic and as we like to do it here in Asador Alfonso, we grilled it ever so slightly just to let the natural plumpness and sweetness of this incredible ingredient do the talking. Dressed simply in a traditional Spanish dish called salpicón (bell peppers, onion, tomato, boiled egg, sherry vinegar, and arbequina olive oil) that we slightly tempered to make it a bit more warm and comforting, we finished it with parsley oil to give it the aromas of our homeland.

A joyous dish that perfectly showcases what we do here, with much respect for these wonderful ingredients we get to work with. Enjoy our salpicón de bogavante all throughout the holidays 🎅

We have always believed in chef Alvaro Clavijo’s astounding talent, but just recently it make history when 50 Best awarded his restaurant El Chato (Bogota) with the number one spot in their Latin America list. We at Asador Alfonso were honored to have cooked with him in our collaboration last October where chefs Chele Gonzalez and Rodrigo Osorio celebrated their shared culinary heritage as well as distinctive characteristics that define their cuisines. They also explored the various similarities in both Colombian, Spanish and our local ingredients, as well as cooking techniques that are common in the previous Spanish heritage.

Chef Alvaro’s visit to Asador Alfonso was not only a cultural education but also incredibly fun. Congratulations to our friend from Bogota for El Chato’s well-deserved recognition and we look forward to cooking with him again soon.

Behind every great restaurant is a team of hardworking and passionate individuals who have made it their mission to deliver a lunch or dinner service that is better than the last. Working with raw talent and a willingness to learn, our team of mostly Caviteños possesses the kind of steely determination that has gotten us to where we are now.

Like metal forged in fire, led by chef Chele and Rodrigo and rigorously trained by manager Irene, our team is the foundation on which we continue to grow and develop. We are thankful for each and every member— because of their tenacity and diligence, they are a big part of what made Asador Alfonso into what it is today.
