π¨ PAHIBALO SA TANAN: BEWARE OF SCAMMERS π¨
Last night, November 29, our small business experienced a scam at our Quezon Branch. A customer ordered 3 lemonades and claimed they sent β±600. Because we were out of town and couldnβt verify the payment right away, we trusted the screenshot they provided and even issued a cash refund of β±348 because they βoverpaidβ. Later on, we discovered no payment was ever received.
Today, the same person tried again - this time ordering 5 large drinks and sending a screenshot of a supposed β±1,530 GCash payment. For those who buy at Mr. Lemon, you know 5 drinks do not cost that much. Nagduda na kami, so we checked our GCash, refreshed multiple times, and confirmed once again: no payment at all.
When we confronted the person, they insisted that they paid. We stood firm and sent them proof that none of their supposed payments came in our account, and they eventually blocked us.
Weβre sharing this not to point fingers, but to protect our community. Small businesses in Masbate work hard day and night just to serve and survive. When scammers target one of us, it can easily happen to others too.
To our fellow small business owners, storekeepers, and food stall vendors: Letβs look out for each other. Always double-check payments before releasing orders or issuing refunds. Scammers are getting smarter but together, we can stay one step ahead.
To our loyal customers and the community that supports us: Salamat sa padayon nga pagsalig. Your support keeps local businesses like ours going, despite challenges like this.
Letβs continue building a community where honesty, kindness, and mutual respect thrive π
