The typical miki-guisado is made special with our home-made noodles without preservatives topped with vegetables and our version of "bagnet". Back in the days, the Marikenyos enjoyed watching their miki-guisado cooked and "pinapagulong-gulong" on a huge "kawali" thus they gave it the name "Pinagulong". Their first family-owned panciteria was called La Moda Panciteria in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte an
d their specialty is canton guisado. It is now known as New La Moda Panciteria and owned by our relatives. When Grandma relocated to Marikina, her family put up a small stall in one of the "kantos" of San Roque then she made her way to have her own panciteria and miki-guisado became her specialty. The Marikenyos grew-up with the Pancit Pinagulong and other all- time favorites like Lumpiang Shanghai (Fried Chinese Spring Rolls) or Bola-bola (Pork Meatballs) with our special Sweet & Sour Sauce, Torta con Carne or Hipon (Egg Foo Young), Ampalaya con Lechon, Buttered Fried Chicken and the Salud's Fried Rice (Yang Chow). Our menu is similar to a Chinese Restaurant but suited for the Filipino taste buds. Today, several panciterias in Marikina are serving their version of the Pancit Pinagulong but the Marikenyos and our valued customers from all over the Metro know that distinct taste of our special home-made noodles and always find their way back to the home of the original Pancit Pinagulong, the NEW SALUD PANCITERIA.
