We tried the Greaseless Chicken in spicy flavor from Papa Ching's Restaurant here in Davao City.

Papa Chings' is located at Brgy 9-A, Pardo de Tavera Street.

It is dab as Davao's famous greaseless chicken and honestly I personally find their greaseless chicken deserving of its name. It is my first time finding this restaurant and found it from a stroll on a Monday evening. Maybe for those who were born and raised from Davao, they know this restaurant well.

Their greaseless chicken is everything Max's chicken should have been. It's savory, juicy, flavorful from skin to meat, and not oily at all. The chicken skin is crispy and not full on batter unlike other chicken from restaurants that add more calories from the batter used.

The spicy one also provides a tingly sensation to every bite. It adds some kick to the flavor. It's peppery and chilli. For P240 for a half chicken, not bad and is already a good serving for two. I like that they also used saba banana as an alternative to fries as its side. Altho, i find the chicken size small though. Would leave you craving for more especially if you like specific parts of a chicken.

The downside however is that it doesn't have any gravy to dip it into which would have been nice to pair it with. The chicken skin can also be a little bit salty at some parts.

It's the type of chicken you'll crave from time to time. Unsure why I dont see it talked about much perhaps because the restaurant has an old looking aesthetics that the young ones would not appreciate but it's honestly (so far) one of the best discoveries I found.

I found that most of the patrons there are old timers who perhaps enjoy and crave some comfort food. I'm glad I discovered this tho. Dining there reminds me of Gensan's nostalgic and long known restaurants like Chicken Haus, Yolly's, Jo-ann's and Bayfront. Nothing beats the simplicity of a comfort food.

I'd rate their chicken 9/10
