Following lifting of strict restrictions, many are raring to resume their travels. Along with that comes the fun of selecting interesting dining options in our destinations. But if you are like many of us, still a little bit weary of COVID threat, it makes sense to stay on the cautious side when it comes to social distancing and avoiding high-risk situations, especially if it doesn’t take the pleasure out of dining out.
Here is a rather unique solution.
The two-year of Pandemic restrictions has solidified the concept of private dining. Small and private is an integral part of the new normal. To that end, Yats is offering a private dining restaurant for one and only one party each meal. Serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, this exclusive restaurant is located inside the heart of a large wine cellar, hence its name Cellar 1855. Cellar 1855 can be configured to seat from 2 to 8 in laidback comfort and style. Menu is Continental Europe but classic Italian and Spanish dishes are also present. Off-menu orders can be organized with sufficient advance notice.
Minimum spend per booking is p12,000 for lunch and p15,000 for dinner. Payment is required for confirmation of booking.
There is no need to emphasize the award-winning wine list. This is a cellar dining room. What else would one expect? But expensive wines is not necessary the order of the day. YATS prides itself in offering a collection well beyond the ubiquitous famous labels. Modern diners require sensible options, value for money, and most importantly, wines that are properly aged to their prime for optimum drinking pleasure. And yes, there is an interesting selection of Single Malt, Age-statement Bourbon, Armagnac, Port, Sherry and Madeira to complete the meal.
Dress code is smart casual, or if you prefer, formal.
Private dining offers more than peace and privacy. What you get here is personalization. If you prefer your own style of background music, bring along a USB flash drive with your favorite playlist. And if you wish to watch something on Netflix or Youtube during your meal, just pick up the remote control. You want to dim the lights and light up some candles, why not? This is private dining and it offers a degree of latitude that is unthinkable even in a fine-dining restaurant.
Cellar 1855 is located at Clearwater Resort, near the reception office, with plenty of private parking. It is not fancy or stuffy. It is just, well, private.
