When they leave, they leave a paw print in our hearts—perfectly marked, so deeply that it may ache every now and then.

But perhaps that is the thing about grief: it carries with it all the happy memories, the little moments, and the love that we will never, ever forget.

For those of us who love our pets as family, we quietly carry that grief alongside an immense gratefulness—for all the days they stayed, for all the joy they gave us, and for the countless times we ourselves were comforted and saved by the genuine love of a so-called “dog.”

I’ve had the privilege of making her barkday cakes through the years, and this year feels very different. 🤍

No barkday cake this time—just a little something made in remembrance of a very loved girl, and a life that will always be worth celebrating.

Run free, sweet girl. 🐾🤍

Roger’s family reached out to us to celebrate his 13th birthday a little earlier after receiving the heartbreaking news that he may only have a few weeks left.

We just wanted to help make that day a little more special for him. A few days later, his family sent us this message… Roger had crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈🐾

But before he left, he got to celebrate. He got to smell his cake, enjoy it, and have one more little happy moment with the people who loved him so much. 🥺

Thank you, Roger’s family, for allowing us to share this memory. It means more than you know that HimBon’s got to be a tiny part of his last celebration.

Run free, sweet Roger. You were so, so loved. 🤍🌈
