One year ago today, on July 16, 2025, we opened Laro Coffee.

To be honest, we had no idea what we were doing. Hindi pa complete ang gamit namin, wala pang aircon, konti pa lang ang nasa menu, and we didn’t even know if anyone would come through our doors.

So we started with what we had, a small space, a ceiling fan that tried its best to fight the afternoon heat, two people who simply wanted to make good coffee, and RenRen the cat keeping us company from day one.

Looking back now, ang dami na palang nagbago. We finally have aircon, we’ve added more drinks, made little upgrades around the shop, and learned so much over the past year.

But if you ask us what we’re most grateful for, it’s not the upgrades.

It’s the people.

The customers who gave us a chance when we were new. The ones who kept coming back, brought their friends, stayed a little longer to chat, and eventually became friends themselves. Somehow, without really planning it, Laro became more than just a coffee shop. It became a small community, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted.

To everyone who has been part of our first year, whether you’ve visited once, became a regular, shared our posts, recommended us to someone, said hi to the cats, or simply believed in us, thank you.

From Josh, Geri, Renren, and the rest of the cats of Laro, thank you for an unforgettable first year. MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT!
