Before the cafรฉ, I was already working from home while taking care of Ben, making sure my husband had lunch, monitoring the cafรฉ, and attending to our apartment rentalsโ€”all at the same time.

Now, my mornings start early with the cafรฉ. From dawn until early afternoon, there's always something to check, something to fix, something to think about. And when the cafรฉ is finally quiet, there's still the rest of life waiting.

Today, it was B.

He had been bugging me to bake an apple cake, so I turned off the TV and spent the rest of the afternoon in the kitchen with him. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฐ

I think sometimes we only see the visible parts of someone else's life. I donโ€™t always post customer feedback, mainly because I rarely ask my customers to leave one. ๐ŸคŽ

And honestly, when it comes to food, I believe that โ€œlami,โ€ โ€œdelicious,โ€ or โ€œyummyโ€ is very subjective. What tastes delicious to you may not necessarily be the same for someone elseโ€”and thatโ€™s perfectly okay. We all have different preferences. ๐Ÿ˜Š

For example, if someone keeps coming back for the same cheesecake, I take that as their own little way of saying, "Lami ra gyud ni for me.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜„

So, Iโ€™ll be sharing some of the feedback Iโ€™ve received so far for our Basque Burnt Cheesecake. Not to convince you that youโ€™ll love it, but simply to let you hear what some of our customers think.

I never liked cheesecake! I baked cheesecake here in Europe probably only 3x since I moved here. I never really liked its taste. This year, I decided to give it a shot before B's birthday. I thought, 'okay, this will be my last shot. But this time, I'll make it basque burnt. If I won't get it, I'm gonna stop!' Theeeen, it turned out sooo good!! I did some tweaking of the recipe of course! I ended up baking it many times to the point that it got our oven broken. Jochen had to repair it and we had to eat cold cuts, sandwiches, or eat outside for days or for more than a week. ๐Ÿ˜… Good thing, oven was fixed already. Ky if wa pa, mka ingun gyd ko neveeeer na ko mag cheesecake. ๐Ÿคฃ
