Proud to be SUNGAYAN GRILL since day one! 🐟💚
🐟 Why We Chose to Keep the Name “Sungayan Grill”
There were times when we thought about changing the name Sungayan Grill, especially during seasons when we could not serve Sungayan because the catch was limited while the demand was high.
But we chose not to change it.
Why?
Because we are proud of what the name Sungayan Grill has come to represent.
Before, Sungayan fish was something mostly known only to the locals of Bolinao. Today, it has become part of what people associate with our town.
Bolinao is known for its beautiful beaches, caves, rivers, and local delicacies, and we are proud that Sungayan fish has also become part of Bolinao’s identity and story.
We may not always have Sungayan available. The catch depends on nature, the season, the weather, and the fishermen’s hard work. But that does not make us any less proud of the name.
We did not name Sungayan Grill after a fish just to sell a dish. We carried the name because we wanted people to know the fish, the fishermen, and the place where its story began.
And after all these years, Sungayan Grill remains Sungayan Grill. 🐟💚
From a fish once known mostly by locals, to a name now recognized by visitors who come to Bolinao, this is a legacy we are proud to carry.
And to our true supporters since 2013, our customers who have been with us from the beginning, thank you for being our backbone. ❤️
