NOW HIRING: SENIOR BARISTA
We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and dependable Senior Barista to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who has strong technical coffee skills, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and can confidently lead a team during daily operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 25–35 years old
• At least 5 years of professional barista experience
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with espresso preparation and extraction
• Knowledgeable in pour-over coffee and different brewing methods
• Excellent understanding of coffee beans, grind size, dosing, yield, extraction time, and brew ratios
• Skilled in dialing in espresso and making adjustments based on taste and extraction
• Proficient in milk steaming and latte art
• Able to consistently produce quality espresso-based drinks
• Knowledgeable in coffee equipment, proper machine operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of food and beverage safety, sanitation, and proper bar hygiene
• Experience handling coffee inventory, bar supplies, and proper storage
• Able to maintain drink quality and consistency even during busy hours
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Previous experience supervising, training, or mentoring baristas is highly preferred
• Able to delegate tasks and keep the bar organized and efficient
• Can train new staff on coffee preparation, recipes, service standards, and cafe procedures
• Responsible, punctual, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Has a positive attitude and can work well under pressure
• Willing to learn and adapt to new drinks, recipes, and cafe standards
• Passionate about coffee and committed to continuous learning
PLUS POINTS
Candidates with the following skills or knowledge will have an advantage:
• Knowledgeable in matcha and hojicha, including preparation techniques, quality, flavor profiles, and proper storage
• Experience preparing matcha-based and hojicha-based beverages
• Familiarity with traditional matcha preparation, including whisking techniques and proper water temperature
• Understanding of different matcha grades, origins, and flavor characteristics
• Knowledge of hojicha preparation and how roasting affects its flavor profile
• Experience working with specialty coffee, tea, or Japanese-inspired beverages
• Passion for learning about coffee, matcha, hojicha, and specialty beverages
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the bar team during daily operations
• Prepare high-quality espresso, pour-over, and other coffee beverages consistently
• Dial in espresso and monitor coffee quality throughout the day
• Ensure proper milk texture and consistent latte art
• Maintain drink recipes, measurements, and quality standards
• Train and coach junior baristas and new team members
• Monitor bar workflow and delegate tasks effectively
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar at all times
• Perform opening and closing bar procedures
• Monitor coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other bar inventory
• Assist with inventory counts and stock monitoring
• Ensure proper handling and storage of coffee and ingredients
• Maintain and properly clean coffee equipment, espresso machines, grinders, and brewing tools
• Identify and report equipment issues or operational concerns
• Ensure compliance with cafe policies, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Provide excellent and welcoming customer service
• Handle customer concerns professionally and appropriately
• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
• Support the management team with daily cafe operations when needed
• Lead by example in professionalism, cleanliness, service, and work ethic
