Maestro Café remembers NINOY.
"The Filipino is worth dying for."
Today, we remember Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Jr. (1932–1983), a journalist, senator, statesman, and one of the most prominent voices for democracy during one of the most difficult periods in Philippine history.
Ninoy chose to return to the Philippines in 1983 to come home despite the danger waiting for him. His assassination at the Manila International Airport on August 21, 1983 became a defining moment that awakened millions of Filipinos and strengthened the movement for democracy.
His life reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to stand for what we believe is right despite it.
On his death anniversary, may we remember not only the man who gave his life for his country, but also the ideals he stood for—freedom, democracy, courage, and love of country.
