Boquete’s Geisha Coffee Shatters World Record: Fetches $13,518 per Kilogram in Private Auction

In a remarkable display of the global demand for Panama’s renowned Geisha coffee, Boquete’s Lamastus Family Estate set a staggering new world record on Thursday. Their premium lot of Aguacatillo Elida Geisha Honey sold for an astonishing $13,518 per kilogram ($110.50 per cup) during a private auction, with the winning bid placed by South Korean coffee company, Black Road Coffee.

“This lot is small but extraordinarily flavorful,” explained Wilford Lamastus, owner of Lamastus Family Estate. “The cup profile is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. Grown at an altitude of 2,060 meters, the beans were carefully harvested at peak ripeness, processed using the Honey method, and dried in a dark room. The result was a coffee that exceeds all expectations.”

This isn’t the first time Lamastus has broken records. He recently topped prices at the prestigious "Best of Panama" (BOP) auction, showcasing Panama’s continued dominance in the world of specialty coffee. But this latest achievement, eclipsing even his previous records, solidifies the nation’s standing at the apex of coffee excellence.

Elevating Coffee to Art: The Kaleidoscope of Flavors
Lamastus attributes much of the auction's success to the distinctive theme behind this year’s event—a “kaleidoscope” that celebrates the rich diversity of flavors and processing methods in each lot of coffee. “We presented a wide array of processing techniques,” said Lamastus. “From traditional washed coffees, where the intrinsic flavors of the Geisha variety and the terroir shine through, to experimental fermentation methods—each cup offered something unique, abstract, and symmetrical in its flavor composition.”

The 3-kilogram batch of Aguacatillo Elida Geisha Honey was meticulously cultivated in the high-altitude terrain of Boquete, a coffee-growing region in Panama's Chiriquí province, located some 500 kilometers from Panama City. This same estate has produced other world-class lots, including one in 2022 that garnered $13,286 per kilogram during that year’s electronic auction.

Panama's Coffee Legacy: Strengthening a Global Brand
The continued success of Panama’s Geisha coffee at high-profile auctions has further cemented the country’s reputation as the leader in specialty coffee. "These outstanding results confirm Panama’s place at the forefront of the global coffee market," said Hunter Tedman, president of the Panama Specialty Coffee Association. “What’s remarkable is not just the prices, but the consistency of these record-breaking sales. It's a testament to the superior quality and uniqueness of Panama's Geisha coffee, a brand that’s synonymous with excellence.”

Just days before this private auction, Lamastus Family Estate made headlines at the 2024 BOP auction, where their Elida Geisha Natural Torre lot fetched $10,013 per kilogram—a record that was swiftly surpassed in the private sale.

The international demand for Panamanian Geisha shows no signs of slowing down, with buyers from across the globe—China, the United States, Australia, Japan, Canada, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Taiwan—all competing for a taste of the world’s finest coffee. As each auction elevates the stakes, Panama’s position as the ultimate coffee destination is further solidified, much to the pride and satisfaction of its producers.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled,” Tedman concluded. “Every auction, every record broken, elevates Panama's global standing and reinforces the prestige of the Panama-Geisha brand. It’s something we can all take pride in.”

UNMASKING THE CORROSION OF FREEDOM
A Call to Unite for the Soul of America

As an outsider, my love for the United States and its patriotic spirit has always resonated deeply within me since my teenage years. Drawn to the allure of "the land of the free," I had the privilege of living and working there for many years, immersing myself in the American dream. However, in 2007, a profound realization gripped me, and I made the difficult decision to leave. It pained me to witness a creeping poison, gradually suffocating the essence of freedom that was once cherished.

Continuing from afar, I closely monitor the nation, and the mounting challenges it faced. Donald Trump's presidency brought about significant change and initial promise. However, his years in government faced immense challenges due to attacks from the "deep state" and the mass media, rather than solely based on his ability to fulfill promises diligently.

The great divide plaguing the American dream has reached an alarming magnitude, with no apparent solution other than a comprehensive cleansing of the corrupt and treacherous government. This once-hallowed institution has metamorphosed into a wellspring of malevolence, sparing no effort to manipulate the legal system in pursuit of its nefarious deeds.

Born a decade after the cataclysm of World War II, my education in Germany forcibly exposed me to the atrocities committed by the fascist regime in 1945. I learned firsthand how they insidiously manipulated laws, media, and families, disseminating lies about their opponents to facilitate their subsequent persecution and ex*****on.

Today, observing the United States, I am haunted by the familiar patterns of this corrupt behavior, witnessing the perversion of the justice system in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago.
The gradual demise of the Land of the Free fills me with trepidation—freedom is being extinguished, enabled by similar dark forces that once plunged my own country into collapse.
Make no mistake—during those times and even now, the government targeted anyone who dared to oppose them, ensuring their evil designs remained unchallenged.

The United States, no longer united, finds itself entangled in the divisive web of malicious lies, propagated relentlessly through the complicit mass media. Meanwhile, these internal conflicts extend their reach across the Atlantic, firmly embedding their claws into the fabric of Europe, refusing to relinquish their deadly hold. The sanctity of truth has been forsaken as this sordid game unfolds before our eyes.

This malevolence within the United States has metastasized, infecting numerous corners of the globe. For those of us who bear witness, it becomes increasingly challenging to discern the encroaching predators hiding behind the veneer of innocence.
Now is the time for us to unite, standing unwaveringly with those who strive for liberty and justice, unwavering in their battle against corruption. This fight is not to be lost, for it is about saving the very soul of nations, preserving your cherished nation and constitution, and championing freedom and justice for all. My dear friends, we bear a monumental responsibility:

"Make Our Nations Great Again" - Unite once more, embodying the virtues of goodness, and standing resolutely against all that is evil. Do not falter in the belief that these afflictions will dissipate on their own. "The devil reigns within your borders; show him the path to his demise, leading him to the inferno where he belongs. All eyes are fixed upon you, United States of America. If you succumb to decay, we all will falter.

Get rid of the evil within your government and bring peace to Ukraine. Stop this war and refuse to perpetuate it any further! Europe is in deep crisis because of your leader - and remember, Europe is your ally. Do not sabotage and destroy, but rather rebuild trust and foster the spirit of goodness for all. Failure to clean your house and continuing on a destructive path will surely spell the end of the USA, as alliances are already forming behind your back due to your poor conduct.
