We've just been cleaning up outside - lots of leaves and a few branches - nothing major ... but I'm thinking of all our friends and guests in Auckland. I know that many of you have got enormous clean ups ahead of you, and alot of uncertainty as well.
You are in our thoughts, stay safe xx

Believe it or not, the sun is shining here today! And it's warm! The last two months have been crazy, strange weather mixed with some gorgeous days. Thanks to those of you who braved it to come here, luckily most of you caught the good days - here's hoping for better weather from now on (I'm an eternal optimist!)
Thank you to our lovely guests from Parua Bay, Helensville, Woodhill, Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and London!

November - rain, wind, thunder, sunshine, lots of laughter, massages, swimming, kiwi calling most nights, kiwi poo in the undercover area, kiwi fossicking in the bark near the bath - very exciting! We've had walkers from Snells Beach, Auckland, Beachlands, Cambridge, Tauranga, Hastings, Havelock North, Eketahuna, Wellington, Nelson, Tasman, Richmond, Mapua, Darfield and Christchurch - thank you all for coming!

Well, the first month of our season is over. We've had the loveliest walkers from all around the country - Auckland, Hamilton, Huntly, Mt Maunganui, Tauranga, Hastings, Wellington, Christchurch and Malaysia! We've had a mixed bag of weather, typically spring, but many people have been swimming (braver than me!) Thank you all for coming ...

Dinner ready for tonight's walkers ... gratin of vegetables, agria potato, onion and tomatoes from the Whangarei Growers Market, fresh herbs from our garden, butterflied chicken. Cook for about an hour and serve with a green salad. I think it will be delicious!

"Hātea Loop: Whangārei's mega-fun, multi-use, mid-city walkway.
"...thousands of Whangārei locals now use their ‘Loop’ to exercise, eat or be entertained in the scenic heart of their city. Or, they’ll be showing it off to visitors, many of whom come here specifically to see its two most iconic structures – the art and architecture fantasia that is the Hundertwasser Art Centre and the breathtaking Te Matau ā Pohe bascule bridge, especially at its dramatic midday raising."
