For the last two and half months, Coffee Embassy has graced our brew bar, espresso machine and retail shelf with all manner of treats.

From the outstanding SL28 on espresso, to the bouquet of florals that was the White Honey Gesha on pourover and even the ever consistent Ethiopian Konga on batch - we've thoroughly enjoyed it all.

If you're ever down in Christchurch, a visit to their roastery or Cashel St flagship certainly wouldn't go amiss.

We've got one last brew to introduce before our next Guest Roaster and that is the Natural Chiroso from Cesar Buesaquillo - the second year of purchasing from this producer and another exceptional coffee.

One year old!! 🎂
We had an absolute blast celebrating our first birthday last Thursday with everyone that has helped us get this far!

Much love to everyone who has supported us this far - we wouldn't be here without you 🩷🧡💚💙

This past weekend, Honoka did the Sketchbook Team proud at the Aotearoa Brewer's Cup 🤗

In what has been 9 years since the last competition, Honoka competed in the finals against some seriously talented Brewers from across the country - eventually taking out 5th place 🥳

This weekend, as thanks for letting us take the time last Saturday to compete, we're bring some of Honoka's Competition Coffees to Sketchbook 🙌

We'll be sharing an unmissable Natural Sidra on our Pourover bar and a remarkable Natural Red Bourbon as our Feature Espresso.
These coffees will be limited but we can't wait to share them with you 🩷🧡💚💙

Some big news from the Sketchbook Team!

We'll be closed this coming Saturday 2nd of May, with Honoka and Logan up in Auckland for the Aotearoa Brewer's Championships.

With Saturday's being one of our busiest days, we've made the decision to close rather than put the rest of team under pressure and deliver a less than ideal experience 🥲

Rest assured, we'll be back open from 7:30am on Sunday 3rd of May and we'll definitely have some treats these coming weeks.

In the meantime, follow along and support Honoka's journey right here 😊

In case you missed out on a spot a Honoka's Brewers Practice - we've got another treat for you 😁

We've got a very impressive looking line up of coffees from Wonderstate Coffee - courtesy of our friend Justin 💙

Based in Viroqua, Wisconsin - Wonderstate Coffee was named 2025 Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine

Come along this Thursday from 4pm for some outstanding coffees including a rare Kenyan Gesha.
We may even have some of Honoka's competition coffee on the table 👀

It's competition season again and, this time, we're slowing things done ⏳️

It's been almost 10 years since the last Aotearoa Brewer's Championships where competitors serve 3 carefully crafted pourover coffees to our discerning judges 🧐

Honoka & Logan will be heading up to Auckland to compete on the 1st and (hopefully) 2nd of May.

That's not before we open up some practice to anyone who wants to see what its all about.
