Tomorrow, Sunday marks the end of an era! The first time in almost seven years we haven't had someone from the Douglas families working for us!

Matt (aka Mattrick) started with us almost 7 years ago as an after school dishy, he worked himself through Uni, traveled on an OE, and has returned multiple times for odd jobs, dishy shifts and front of house shifts. Been a pleasure having you working with us mate, good luck in Oz.

Ella, his more hard-working (lol), cousin started three and a half years ago as dishy but quickly moved on to FOH, running the till and greeting everybody at the door on most of her shifts. She is now a fantastic barista, waitress, and (like today) unofficial manager running the cafe when Ana, Alice and Ollie are away. Good luck for your next job Dougie you're gonna smash it.

Come say goodbye tomorrow for their last shifts.

Great young people from great families, we're gonna miss ya!

Six years ago Anastasia walked in our door looking for a job, We knew straight away she was the perfect fit!

Hard working, charismatic, loyal, confident, intelligent, funny, little bit buzzy, everything that makes a great leader.

‘Schnitzel Von Crumb’

WOAP 2026 Burger entry.

House ground 200g Beef patty with beef from Scotty's Meats in Martinborough, our homemade sauerkraut, homemade polish style beetroot Ćwikła, dill pickle mayo, Gruyère crisp on an Arobake poppy seed brioche burger bun, served with German potato salad (baby potatoes, bacon, parsley, olive oil, dried dill + vinegar)

The Visa Wellington On a Plate theme this year is ‘Word of Mouth’ - we opened Arcimboldi 8 years ago, and our Schnitzel has been on the menu since day one and has bought us a lot of our popularity through word of mouth. The last year we have also spent a lot of time reading Hairy Maclary to our baby boy, who loves Schnitzel von Krumm so we thought this was a fun way to tie it all together.

For the best and lightest scrambled eggs start them 6ft something in the air - following the same principles as making 'Teh Tarik' in Malaysia, whip the eggs hard with cream, add them to the pan from up as high as you can, so they absorb all the air on the way to the pan! Possibly not scientific... but we aren't scientists!

The best selection of muffins in town, seasonal fruit, fresh ingredients, unique combinations, baked fresh every day and served at an affordable price.

Growing up going to a cafe meant going to the Muffin Break in the Plaza in Palmerston North. Now i make over 150 muffins everyday, its funny how early life shapes us.

One of the top three most important meals of the day, possibly our favourite meal of the day... depends whats for lunch and dinner i guess!

Always the freshest produce and eggs from Dev at Capital Produce.
Fantastic breakfast meats, including their gold medal winning black pudding, from Scotty's Meats in Martinborough.
Sourdough bread from Arobake .
We only use Aoraki Salmon - it's by far the best smoked salmon available. Homemade hollandaise - no fake stuff from a packet, and no vinegar in our poaching pot, eggs that taste like eggs not vinegar!

C*D quality, suburban prices, just down the road from home!
