Buongiorno. This is yo announce thatTozzo The Italian Coffee Shop was sold to Casacalvo and just shut down it's unique Sicilian door, after less than 2 years of activity. Unfortunately, the costrunction site nearby had become an impossible impediment to receive people in a normal way. Continuous infringements of our space, blockage of the entrance to the sidewalk steering the crowd away, trucks and cranes constantly blocking the view, dirt and noise were our daily routine. It is very sad to see that there is no policy in place whatsoever, or any kind of care by no-one, about having small independent businesses going through all this and losing all their efforts and money, just because. We are definitely not protected, no compensated and that is just normal to everybody. It is on a regular basis that small stores shut down after little time they open.... if this is so frequent, somethng must be wrong at the base of the policies around
it. Something to seriously think about.
We are immigrant people like everybody and have been here for15 years now, and no, we are not moving to Florida ...since we love you New York. To New York and higher...: it is time you do something, to have small indipendent businesses be protected better.
We wish Casacalvo, who is building a beautiful chain around the city, to thrive and be successful through their great PR and innovative ways. At least the community still have an Italian corner in the neighborhood. I thank our community for the love and the trust demonstrated to us.
Grazie a tutti
